Mick.

Will wheel out the 10th for their first run at CA16.

Love my Admech, but a fella can only come dead last so many times before exploring another option!

Besides, with wooks fists coming along there is always the chance ill climb 1 step up that ladder.

How're people going for planning to come to CA2016? What are your thoughts on the idea of the approved armies only idea?

On the (somewhat slim) chance that I'll be able to make it, I'm keen to see what lists will be allowed. That way I know which of my many unpainted forces to wave some undercoat at smile.gif

Since I have only slightly more than nfi how to play, getting kicked around a table for two days would be a great learning experience.

on that - I've looked at a few titan lists, seems no-one takes Warlords... is it just because better bang for buck with the Reavers, or is my lack of experience missing the obvious?

Hi Fruitbat.

Funnily enough a tournament is the beast place to learn Epic. Nothing helps sink it all in than 5 games over two days in a great atmosphere and a wet bar.

It's still being formalised but it's looking like it'll be approved list only this year. So barring no other lists make the cut between now and tournament day the approved armies are:

Adeptus Mechanicus – Knight World (2016-02-16)
Adeptus Mechanicus – Titan Legion (2016-02-16)
Chaos Cultist – Stigmatus Covenant (2016-02-16)
Chaos Space Marine – Black Legion (2016-02-16)
Dark Eldar (2016-02-16)
Eldar – Alaitoc (2016-02-16)
Eldar – Biel-Tan (2016-02-16)
Eldar – Iyanden (2016-02-16)
Imperial Guard – Baran Siegemasters (2016-02-16)
Imperial Guard – Death Korps of Krieg (2016-02-18)
Imperial Guard – Minervan Tank Legion (2016-02-18)
Imperial Guard – Steel Legion (2016-02-18)
Necron (2016-02-16)
Ork – Feral Orks (2016-02-16)
Ork – Speed Freeks (2016-02-16)
Ork – War Horde (2016-02-16)
Space Marine – Codex Astartes (2016-02-18)
Space Marine – Imperial Fists (2016-02-18)
Space Marine – Salamanders (2016-02-18)
Space Marine – Scions of Iron (2016-02-18)
Space Marine – Space Wolves (2016-02-18)
Space Marine – White Scars (2016-02-18)
Tau (2016-02-16)
Tyranid (2016-02-16)
Chaos Iron Warriors

These can all be located: http://www.tp.net-armageddon.org/
Iron warriors haven't made it up on that page yet so there link is here:http://www.taccmd.tacticalwargames.net/viewtopic.php?f=82&t=25896

As for Warlords, I'm not 100% sure. Our local meta hasn't really had much to do with them. But there are whispers of a few people tinkering with them in Imperial Fists lists or DKOK. As for titans, I think most people were trying to get more activations so were just running the Reavers.

Sweet, thanks mard!

I was looking at the knights, but I think it's going to be too much to ask given "life". I might actually have a chance to get some paint on half a dozen titans plus extras by then. Might also be a bit easier to run a simple list. Plus, I do love my old school titans smile.gif

Hey Dave, it comes down to bang for your buck.
In the titan lists with their wide selection of weapons and upgrades its more effective to spend points on 3 Reavers over 2 Warlords - both can be tailored to any role, but the reavers give you another activation (with 9 weapon systems toal in place of 8), greater flexibility, higher movement (important for a game determined by objective grabbing).
Now Reaver's aren't as survivable, but if someone has the tools to take on a Reaver, then its not too far a stretch to take on a Warlord.

This is not tosay the warlords wouldn't work, but a 3 Reaver list is easier to run for a newcomer

Thanks Kendall, very helpful!

Now to see if I actually have 3 Reavers... I know I have more Warlords and Hounds than I can use.. guess I can run a pair of Warhounds in lieu of the 3rd Reaver if it turns out I don't have it

I have a very nice Dark Eldar Army that I am currently building using v1.6. Dark Eldar Army Champion: "Moscovian" from the NetEA PDF. I have seen 3 other Dark Eldar army lists about so hopefully I am using the correct list. Most seem to clones of each other. The list from EpicUK Version: 050615, drops many of the units like Titans, removes Squad Sybarites, and changes points values and adds in venom transports of which I am planning on building 1/2 a dozen just in case. Other clone lists include V1.6 from the Raiders2 document, and Compendium v2.0 verson of 6.10.3.1 Kabal of Pain’s Way.

Later on I will be collecting and painting other armies, so I might try and field them at later CanComs. These list will be the Inquisitorial Ministorum army v1.2. Sub-Army Champion: "Zombocom", a Vraksian Traitors Chaos list by Ben “Evil & Chaos” Skinner, an Emperor's Children Marine list v3.5.2. Sub-Army Champion: "Frogbear", a Sian-Hann Craftworld list v3.5. Eldar Army Champion: "Chroma", Fir Iolarion Titan Clan list v2.1.1. Sub-Army Champion: "Angel_of_Caliban", and lastly a Thurgrimm's Stronghold Squat army list v4.0. Squat-Demiurg Army Champion: “Moscovian”. Each should have about 4000 to 5000 points to choose an army from when I am finished, Si can pick and choose 3000 points for the tournament.

I am hoping that many of these armies will also be allowed at CanCom in future years when I have completed them, especially the Sian-Hann, Emperor's Children and Inquisitorial - Ministorum lists (I plan to use mainly Onslaught minis for this army).

--------------------
My collections

Epic Armageddon - Dark Eldar, Sisters of Battle, Squats, Emperor's Children, Vraks Renegades, Dark Mechanicum. Chaos Titans, Demons, White Scars, Orks (Feral, Gargant Big Mob, Warhorde, Kult of Speed), Eldar (Sian-Hann/ Biel-Tan/ Iyanden), Necrons, AMTL, and some knights. Planning on building Elysians, Iron Warriors, Tau and Imperial Fists.

60,000 points of 40K, mostly Emperor's Children Battle company. Sisters of Perfection Battle force (Slaaneshi Sisters), 30K Thousand Sons and 40K Thousand Sons demi companys, Adeptus Arbites, Tzeentch and Slaaneshi Demons and Night Lords Battle Company.

Hey dude, just a heads up if those lists are from the Army List compendium, you might want to re-think them. They are all out of date pretty much and most of those people are no longer the army champions. Fully approved lists are now listed here : http://www.tp.net-armageddon.org/
and all list developments continue to happen on taccoms

Here you can find the current approved for NetEA Dark Eldar: http://www.tp.net-armageddon.org/

The current SoB army is this one (Still very experimental)
http://www.tacticalwargames.net/taccmd/vie...130&t=29605
But I'm building a list from this and hope to help the process to get it approved so we can use it tournaments smile.gif

Vraksian Renegades: you list is current, but there is a new AC so you may see some changes coming

Emporer's Children is up to version 4.0 here:
http://www.tacticalwargames.net/taccmd/vie...=82&t=25996

Sam Hainn is up to version 4.2.2
http://www.tacticalwargames.net/taccmd/vie...2&start=120

Fir Iolarion Titan Clan
At this point I wouldn't bother too much with this list......It's woefully experimental and not much fun to play against

Squats have been re done and are at a new 1.5 with a new verison 1.6 to drop any day now

Hi Deb,

The current version of the Sian-Hann Craftworld list 4.2.2(as Mard has stated), AC- Me (PFE100 on taccom, having an issue with my account, so I don’t show...CS is try to fix it)..It’s currently going for approval, and it may be approved by CA16, again depending on number of games, charter says 18, but I would like more for the approval process....

Also the current version of the Fir Iolarion Titan Clan list v4.2.1- No sub-ac at the moment, Fudd has done some nice work on the list and once the approval of the SH and other major Craftworld is done, I will come back and look at it..but at the moment it on hold..

So, input on this would be appreciated. I'm running only two reavers as that's what I've got:

Reaver, Legate, las blaster, quake cannon, support missile
Reaver, princeps, apoc launcher, 2 gattling blasters
2 Warhounds, Vulcan and plasma
Warhound, Vulcan and plasma
Warhound, inferno and Vulcan
2 crusader robot units
Thunderbolts (2)

Out of curiosity, why the move for approved only this year? I thought that the variety of lists at last years CA I thought was a big positive to the experience, (including the Dark Angels list wink.gif ). I'm planning on taking an approved list so not a loaded question.

There's been some tension with taccoms and the Aussie community lately. So we decided to do some all approved tourneys and start recording stats to back up our arguments tongue.gif
