Not Game specific.
Use dot points for topics, such as...

Trade stand: Great space.
Food: Short Lines,
Food: Good Prices etc

Bad comments will be deleted (When I find out how). See the other thread for them.

Good:
Stores: Many good trade stands
games: Appeared to be more space for individual gaming tables than previous years.

Trade stands were awesome. I didn't play anything until the last day, just spent my time wandering from stand to stand, grabbing stuff. I liked Olympian's little 2nd hand stall, and the fact that they would add stuff to it over the three days - kept me coming back there again and again. I liked the friendliness of the staff at different shops, always willing to chat about all things wargaming, maybe discount things they didn't want.

I thought the MOAB crew running the Bring n Buy had things down pat - nicely organised.

I thought the boardgames library area works really well, a LOT of people in there and not your typical wargamer.

I like the kiddies area - for kids to play with toys etc.

I liked the RC tanks, and I think many of the crowd did as well - nice bit of crossover between two hobbies.

I liked going to the War memorial when I had a spare couple of hours - first time, and an absolute highlight of the weekend.

The participation games were excellent - lotsa people playing/involved; looked fantastic. More participation games, I reckon!

I liked the Infinity terrain and many of the FoW boards - congrats to the people who organised these respective tourneys.

Overall, had a blast - thanks to everyone who helped organise/run the weekend.

Comments as a TO (Infinity):

Ok, you did pretty much everything, i just needed to organise the people, the terrain, and how the game turned out! Much appreciated! Communication was great, my tables were there, and i knew where to find them!

Seemed more food on offer this year - having sandwiches/wraps was a great addition to the "junk food" options.

Shops... Were fine. My shopping goal this year was a new mini transport bag, but unfortunately without milsims i was limited to good games' kr multicase, which wasn't what i ws after. But thatwas milsims' decision, not yours.

Excellent flexibility WRT my registration options.
Ability to play late into the evening.

These two points were critical to the success of my events.

Not sure if it was external weather or something actively different from last year, but it really seemed that the Air Con was working a lot better this year. In fact at some points it was blowing so hard it pushing my smoking wreck markers over on a slant, which was looking pretty cool! biggrin.gif

I agree about the air con.
It could have just been where we were, but I thought the temperature was much more agreeable than last year.
I noticed that more doors around the hall were closed, which probably helped keep the temp down.

Pretty certain the weather was also a lot less severe this year compared to last... But I also noticed the doors seemed to stay closed and appreciated the air con very much indeed.

40K was completely awesome this year and I loved voting for the cosplay costume, especially having to interview the cosplayers in an attempt to ascertain who I should vote for.... that girl in the clockwork-winged steampunk outfit was my pick...

Definitely my most enjoyable Cancon ever! Props to all organisers, I had a blast.

Fantastic vendors, polite TO's, a wide variety of games, chillout couches, aircon (oh how i don't miss Arcanacon now...), amazing volunteers - great work guys, I hope my reply in the bad thread doesn't outshine my opinion that CanCon is an amazing, fantastic event, and I can't waitfor next year!

Smart positioning of the games - putting similar stuff together & took advantage of part rows.
Easy to go have a look around in breaks - everything easy to get at.
shops well set up and spaced - all busy but accessible.
Good variety of things to look at...

Not much here yet is that a poor reflection or no one posting?

Trade stalls were a good variety of products.

All trade stores seemed to be in the same areas as last year, this makes it very easy to get to where you want when you have limited time.

The CGS guys in the yellow vests are fantastic armata_PDT_37.gif

Having 2 tables end to end worked well and I thought it was much easier to get around the halls and tables than last year.

Events were amazing, food was far better than previous years, and again having vendors split between both halls gave a great reason to wander. The CGS team seemed much mire engaged this year, particularly when there was whatever emergency that shut the middle thoroughfare down.

i noticed the extra space between tables. not sure how much it really was, but it made walking the tables and stuff much easier.

Cancon - I attended all 3 days.

Trade stands: were really good (as always). Spent a large amount of money with them.

Food: Did not buy food at the event as I find it is over priced. I did buy coffee but thought the price, $5 was rather high for average coffee. The queues were OK.

Space: was excellent. Had room to move. Also the aircon was much better this year.

Parking: was good, we got spots close to the event on each day.

Signage: was good, I was able to find the events.

General Thoughts

You should have water free dispensers all around the area. With the heat it is important to keep hydrated.

I wonder if it would be better to remove "Demo/Participation" games and have more paid events?

Hopefully the ticketing system will perform better next Cancon :-)

Overall a very enjoyable event - keep up the good work.

Cheers

Daz
