OK, so here's my latest foray back into Guard. As Cadian models look like something that fell out of a playdoh kit and always make your painting look crayon...I decided to go for models that DO look pretty...to me that screamed MORDIANS! So I'm converting Mordians into a bitchin' Napoleonesque army

Here was TEST1_01 tongue.gif I reckon there's positives but there's something missing. I just realised that from as close as the pictures are...he looks kinda ######e.
The hats I am proud of! Cut the hat off of the Modian down to the brim, stick on a round bit of sprue (FW Resin sprues & some GW plastic kits have bits the right size - hope I don't run out :S). The cord is teabag string, the little badge on the hat is the bottom cut off of a fraggernade

Paint rundown:
Shirt - Black undercoat > rough Mordian Blue (leaving black in crevices) > Regal Blue (leaving black/mordian blue in crevices)
Pants - Black undercoat > rough Fortress Grey (leaving black in crevices) > Skull White (leaving black/grey in crevices)
Red Trim - Red Gore > Blood Red
Black Leather (Boots/Belt/Hat/etc) - Black > Space Wolves Grey Highlight > 'Ardcoat
Gold Badges - Snakebite Leather > Shining Gold
Flesh - Snakebite Leather > Elf Flesh > Ogryn Flesh
Lasgun (Armour/Tanks/Metal/Etc) - Shadow Grey > NATO Black (Tamiya) > Space Wolves Grey Highlight

So here comes YOUR bit tongue.gif
I'm reasonably happy with the uniform,
The Pants could leave a bit less of the grey & black showing IMO - what do you think?
The Black leather I'm unsure about, I think the SW Grey H/L is too thick & it sticks out a bit given the rest of the model is unhighlighted - thoughts?
The Lasgun is where I get a little iffy - the way this is painted dictates how I do my armour & tanks, and I'm still in two minds about how to do them. The result I had with what I did isn't what I expected, but I think it's got potential. The Tamiya paints are acrylic and turned out to be more of a heavy wash.

Does anyone have any ideas for an armour scheme which has Blue Greys/Ashen Blacks?

about 10 feet tall, hands the size of dustbin lids. Plays Tau, drinks Scotch. Yep, that's the guy.

I'm reasonably sure Hagrid is the world's only Scotch based life form.

Redcoats will be much better methinks.
However, it does mean you will have to lose your trademark hat in favour of a monocle, plate of crumpets and some tea when you play your games.

Fifey, Mez, Ryan & I already have an old rule that if you perform any rough rider charges that you must wear the pith helmet for that phase

I've never seen Ryan wear a pith helmet and I've seen him use rough riders all the time.

Dishonourable curr.

Here we are then - the NEW and IMPROVED!

Test model 1 of THE BRITANNIAN HIVE NORFOLK FUSILIER-DRAGOONS

Unfortunately I've not been into town to get some Codex Grey to do the lasgun, but at least the uniform is done. The green markings on his pant-legs and his hat indicate which squad he belongs to

Also, I couldn't resist doing an officer!

I think the Redcoat scheme is working much better already.
It is only fitting, that the british shall be the first adversaries my "Daleks" face upon the field of battle...
