I finally got my Monsterpocalypse stuff today in the mail, most of it anyways. 2 starters and a unit case, still waiting for milsims to re-stock for my monster case. So yeh, I got 2 starters to demo the game to potential players. All I wanted was 2 monster of different factions for some variety, but I got both of the ShadowSun monsters. I'm slightly disappointed, but at least it wasn't 2 of the same monster. Milsims, like the champions that they always are, threw a Mega Cthugrosh into my box
Has anyone else had any troubles with miniatures being broken or on the wrong base? |

threw a Mega Cthugrosh into my box I know you've never met me, but you know I love you, right ? I'm sure you won't have trouble doing some swapsies if you don't wanna wait for the monster case to turn up. Bent and broken figs are par for the course, I haven't had any broken (though one foot needed gluing back to the base on one of my zors) but lots of bent, particularly SSS models. You can get missing or mismatched stuff replaced but it involves posting the base back to PP so for us, it's post-prohibitive. A mate and I worked our way through our first game today, and I have to say that we both had a blast playing Monsterpocalypse. The first time you slam that monster through a few buildings feels very satisfying. At first it felt like the units didn't play a big part in the game, but by the end my perspective on the units changed alot. I did lose the game in the end (I had Zor-Raiden, he had Zor-Maxim). My mistake was trying to go all out to desperately shave those last few wounds off Zor-Maxim and not playing very conservatively. I had no power dice but continuously tried to take him down with lightning attack, missing everytime. While I had no power dice, I failed to power up 3 turns in a row, while my units failed to destroy anything in their turns also. I don't like to blame a loss on luck, but if I managed to power up on any of these turns, I probably could have applied Zor-Maxims face into the side of a building for the win. Even though I lost, I still had the best time with this game and I can't wait to play again.
Cheers. |
