Took a similar list (no Zagstruk) against a Necron Force and won pretty decisively however I think it was more the opponent's inexperience with the force than anything else.

- Decided to add Zagstruk to keep the Stormboyz in the battle and he is the bomb!
- Use Da Jump to send the 2 Slugga units and Deff Dread into combat 1st turn
- Weirdboyz then Smite Spam anything that comes close
- Gretchin are used to bubble infiltrators and to attain objectives
- Killa Kans draw a bit of attention and grab objectives (thinking of making them separate units)
- Kommandos appear when needed (last game turn 2)
- Boss rides around looking to ride into combat 2nd turn usually

--> If this goes well I have 3-5 units that can charge 1st turn and keep laying on the pressure turn after turn

In matched play you are limited to casting psychic powers once per phase (aside from smite). It's under 'matched play mission rules' on page 215 of the big rulebook.

You are not allowed to use da jump 3 times in the same turn.

If this is for narrative/free play, it's a good list. If it's for matched play though, you'll need to rethink your strategy a little.

also can't da' jump deffdreds. They're not infantry.

I would suggest maximum sized units.

A biker unit will also add to this if you don't have more stormboyz.
2x truk with just Tankbustas + burna's if you don't have multiple units.

1x 30 boyz/stormboyz per 500 points is usually adequate
If you rely on da jump perhaps change a second HQ into a Biker Mek with a kill saw and run bikers stormboyz and a truk


I have been running 4x30 on foot at 2000 with 2 FF meks and a doc.>>> don't need to rely on terrain. You could actually run 4 HQ (Warboss, Mek Mek Weirdboy and 6 troops (boyz, boyz, 4x10 gretchin) + some other stuff and pull 9 CP. Either way you need 2x gretchin @ 1500 just to screen/block/ to hold obscure objectives in 8th ed. Your bulk needs to all go into the fray or it gets a bit dicey...

PS
-do you realise you can run 2 free Burna's in you kommando's... for a little more h2h oomf. wink.gif
-With the new points cost in the CA Compendium I think I will have to finish painting up my rokit buggies. they just went from slightly worese than tankbusta's in truk, to a whole lot better..... wink.gif

Back to doing this list again...

Thanks dude for your points. I have a game tonight so I may look at a Mek with KFF and possibly a Doc option.

I have 90+ Jump Pack troops yet only 30 on bases hence the reason for 1 unit. May even look at replacing the Def Dread sad.gif

Have you seen the 2017 chapter approved points adjustments for Orks?

They can help a little with some things getting a bit cheaper
