There's a great slow grow league for Warmachine & Hordes (remember, both play together) called Journeyman that starts at Battlebox and leads up to 35t games, we've had a lot of success with it and the Adelaide community has run 5 or 6 Journeyman leagues that were fantastic fun for all involved. It rewards playing and painting more than winning, and is a great way to get into the game. I'd love to run one at SWG.

March's Warmachine & Hordes tournament will likely be a 35point event, straight from the official tournament packet of Steamroller 2015 which should be released in January. If anyone needs help with army lists, borrowing some models, or even just getting into the game in the meantime please shout, either here, on the Southern Wargamers facebook page, or on the Adelaide Warmachine & Hordes facebook group.

More details on the March tournament to come in late Dec/Jan before CanCon.

Ammendment No 1 to the draft program for Southern War Gamers:

Brent has kindly stepped up to run Commissar's Cup and Southern inquisition.
We have swapped Southern Inquisition to June and FoW Mid War to May to accomodate the TOs availability.
Club times for Sundays in 2015 will be 12 to 4 pm as a baseline but if attendance numbers are good enough to cover the rent then we will extend to 5 pm.

In another development I was chatting with Tim yesterday who might be interested in running a couple of small 1,000 point 40K mini tourneys at the same time as some of our other events.

If anyone else is interested in joinging in and running events please contact me to discuss the possibilities.

Thats it for now
Cheers - Mike

Michael Bevan has kindly come on board to run the War Hamer Fantasy Tournaments and has some exciting ideas to enhance the events. Michael is keen to add a third War Hammer Fantsasy event in November - more details to follow soon. armata_PDT_34.gif

Cool, SA sorely needs more Fantasy events.
Hopefully each event can offer something a little different.

at this stage everything is still packed except for xwing which i have only played a couple of games of and dreadball xtreme which has only just arrived but i am keen to play.

packed away i have a little battletech, king of war g8blins coming together, some lotr goblins which i have only played once but keen to play more, board games like zombicide, 2 factions of mercs, bloodbowl.

nothing really mainstream unfortunately, gave up on 40k,wfb,mtg a long time ago, never got into warmachine or flames but have thought about getting into bolt action (bought rulebook only at thus stage)

All games are welcome at the club. Currently there is:

Flames of War has a strong and consistent following.
Dystopian Wars is reimerging after the second edition rules release.
War Machine is growing through a group led by Terry.
X-Wing has a couple of players.
War Hammer 40,000 has a consistent group of players.
War Hammer Fantasy is growing through the Friday night group led by Michael which is spilling into Sundays.
Blood Bowl used to be popular - just needs a couple of players to spark it up again.
Battle Fleet Gothic is played from time to time.

We are keen to have as many campaigns etc going as possible, we just need players and someone to manage each campaign - all welcome.

The best thing to do is to come down meet the crew and organise some games - once you get to know the players it is easy to organise games.

Looking forward to a great 2015 of gaming armata_PDT_34.gif

Thread added for Warmachine events

Please jump on facebook or in any of the threads if you are new and interested, or have stuff and haven't played before or in a long time, we'd love to show you the ropes! If you're on the fence and need an army to borrow, it's quite likely one of our many players can bring stuff along for you to use.

If there's interest I am looking at running a Dystopian Wars Campaign this year.

The plan is a starting fleet list of 5,000 points.
Sunk models are removed from your list.
Controlled areas to generate some replacements.

see you all on the 1st

Stan

I was just wondering if I would be able to use a Solar Auxilla army in regular 40k games and the various tournaments during the year...?

So I guess its the age old question of FW armies. Yay or Nay...?

Cheers guys.

Pretty sure that's a 30k army so it's a bit more then just the usual fw discussion
