The continuing Star Wars Battlefront II controversy pervades the news this week, but we also have the list of nominees for the 2017 Game Awards to muse on! We get into Dream Daddy happy endings, and hit up GTA Online for some biker business ventures and gun running. Following the rapid release rollercoaster of recent weeks, we also take the time to get back to our roots and delve into what gives some of our old favourites the best replay value.

In this week’s fun adventure of potatoes and patronuses, we relive the Guitar Hero high life, powder up in GTAV, and learn how to destroy phones – South Park Style. Speaking of phones – our big discussion this week is a feature all about mobile gaming. What fun & frivolous distractions do we all enjoy carrying around in our pockets or purses for a bit of portable playtime?

In a world where Midway’s Rampage arcade brawler can become a feature film, we feel the need to investigate what the heck is going on in the world of video game movie adaptations. Why are so many of them so bad, and what source material could actually lead to success in translating games to the big screen? We also dish up all the latest on recent Destiny 2 drama, report on the Edith Finch experience, and the team’s latest adventures at the Perth Games Festival!

Between cows in jars and jetpack corn harvesting, we’ve got all the hot strangeness in video games this week! It’s time to get stuck into the new Curse of Osiris expansion for Destiny 2, unload on the Megaman 30th anniversary reveals, start salivating over the imminent release of hot new indies and finally crack a look at South Park’s Fractured But Whole. It’s also Party Game of the Month time, where we grab our balls and ready all the innuendo while sinking time into Golf With Your Friends!

It’s that most wonderful time of the year where we commence our looking back at the epic ride in video gaming that 2017 turned out to be, with our annual Party Favourites celebration! In this first half of our deliberations, we share our thoughts on our favourite new character of the year, our top picks for audio and visual design, as well as our most memorable moment or sequence in gaming. To accompany that, we’ve got loads of news to break down from The Game Awards and PSX, as well as tales of Kobolds, catacombs, and bank heists!

It’s a full package to unwrap in our final 2017 show with reviews of the beguiling puzzle mechanisms of Gorogoa, the domestic detective drama of RUMU, a Destiny 2 Dawning and a big milestone arriving for PUBG. We also close out the second half of our annual Party Favourites celebration with our favourite game mechanic of the year, biggest surprise, top pick from our 2017 Party Games of the Month, and the all important selections for our favourite games of the year!

Thanks again for listening, take care and enjoy the holiday season in whatever form it comes. We’ll be back again with a new episode in the first week of January 2018!

We’re fresh back from the break to kick off the new year, and we’ve brought a mega swag bag of game chat to share! We have thoughts on Night in the Woods, Super Mario Odyssey, the Life is Strange: Before the Storm finale, Armello’s Rivals expansion and Human Fall Flat – to name just a few. It’s also our first 2018 Party Game of the Month episode, which has us trying to get to grips with each other in a contest of putty pugilism with Gang Beasts!

We’ve got a big year ahead, so it’s time to whet our appetites while waiting for the next meal with a round table discussion of our most anticipated new games of 2018! We also make some outlandish predictions for what’s coming, take down the Destiny Leviathan (and live to tell the tale) and take a scary trip back into the Resident Evil Biohazard.

This week we find ourselves dipping our toes into Warframe, escaping hordes of angry flesh eaters in They Are Billions, and checking out the latest Switch tidbits from the Nintendo Mini Direct presentation. With the recent news that the World Health Organisation is now looking properly into gaming disorders, we also attempt to get the the bottom of what that categorisation actually means!

Nintendo really broke the mould with their announcement of the innovative new LABO range, and we’re here to cover it in detail! We also binge on a variety of Zelda titles, catch the highlights of the Hearthstone HCT series final, look at what makes NieR Automata tick, and research weird and wacky ways that video games have gotten us to interface with them over the years.

It’s a full on monster mash this week as the team dives into our latest obsession in the form of Monster Hunter World! We also find time to chat about the Seas of Thieves beta, the End of Zoe dlc for Resident Evil 7, rough tales from the Destiny 2 Eater of Worlds raid lair, and a quick skip though Overwatch via the new Blizzard world park. This episode also has us take the chairman’s seat for each of the 3 big console companies – what would we each do differently if left in charge of Sony, Microsoft or Nintendo?

While on the path to becoming Monster Hunting legends, we still take the chance to get trapped in new spooky puzzler – The Room: Old Sins, go on a mountain climbing platform adventure with Celeste, and muse about what possibilities could exist with a Mario Kart game built for mobile. It’s also Party Game of the Month time, so we load up the snake launchers and get stuck into a perilous close quarters blowout with Stick Fight!
