SEBF was a Mount Gambier based club that ceased to exist after a rather spectacular breakdown at the end of April. I don't have much contact with many of the former regulars since the club's demise but a sizable portion still meet at the local Independent Stockist Store, Phoenix Fire, on Gray Street to play Malifaux and Magic. I don't think many of them even check WAU anymore...

Hi Beau

I'm interested in getting into flames of war, do you know if anyone plays it down here or might be interested or should I go into Phoenix Fire and ask around.

Thanks

Tom

Sorry Tom I don't think you'll find a game of Flames of War unless you convince others to get involved with it, which is unlikely as new games dun do gone darn good here. Malifaux or magic or Magic Malifaux is all you'll find here.

Smiv is fairly on the ball, which is a shame really.
There's been murmurings of Dropzone Commander and Infinity of late, but at the moment little to no interest in FOW amongst the community to the best of my knowledge.

Because Dropzone Commander looks amazing. Fun fact. All the models were sculpted by 1 guy over 5 years 15 hours a day.

Thanks for letting me know guys, might have to try a little convincing now biggrin.gif

There is a new starter set for FOW coming out in October.

It's only $80 plus postage for a quick start ruleset, full rulebook, two starter forces (US/British & German) and other accessories to get you started.

It's around $300 worth of stuff if you brought it all separately so a good way to get into FOW.

There are links from the page which show the contents of the box in more detail too.

You could probably find someone with an extra $40 to split a box with you, just talk around but I think most of the World War fanatics are in Adelaide at the moment and its just the younger members and the people we don't talk about here *cough* 40k players *cough*. People here are cheap to. Best of luck anyway

No Trent, those guys moved away.
I think from memory, Ant may be the last active 40k player in the Mount unless he's also moved away...

I hadn't thought about splitting a box biggrin.gif

I'd give away one force if someone was keen or buy a second box split that up and give both forces away if there were a few more people keen to get into it.

I've got a bit more info on the open fire box set coming out next week.

There's a page on the FOW website that has a heap of info about it

http://www.flamesofwar.com/hobby.aspx?art_id=3413

There's stuff to download including the quick start guide that runs you through the basics, has the force lists and painting guides.

There's also links to youtube videos that match up with the quick start guide, they break all the steps down and are pretty easy to follow.

When do you guys catch up for games, I'll try and pop in at some stage.
