Hi all,
This wil be my first attempt at a modeling diary. The army is modelled to be a thousand sons army from the scorpion occult so a few conversions have been made as you will see in the pics. What I have to be painted: 1x Chaos lord on daemonic steed conversion 1x Arhiman 3x Rhinos 1x Land raider 1x Las Pred To the Pics! Whole army without the defiler:  Daemon prince made out of a Tomb Kings model with feathered wings. I figured a daemon prince of tzeentch would look good as a "baby lord of change". I have filled in most of the missing flesh with green stuff and made two small spheres to use as eyeballs. Still more greenstuffing to go on this model but I will get there one day.  My chaos lord on daemonic steed. Remembering I wanted this army to represent a scorpion occult I decided to use a Tomb King tomb scorpion as a steed. The legs on these things are a royal pain to construct but with some careful pinning there was success. A chaos scorceror was used to represent the chaos lord in power armour.  I wanted the termies to look like they have had not been warp effected so normal non horned helmets were used. The power weapons are, again, taken from the Tomb King range and pinned into position. The plasticard headpeice is what i plan to use when i have time to properly make ones that are proportioned correctly.   And finally for now, keeping in theme with the scorpion stuff is this beauty. Its made out of plasticard and other secret stuff as well as using an old dark eldar ravenger body. I want to make two of these if I get a chance becuase they look so cool.     So thats it for now. Heading down to Rankos place tomorrow to utilise his airbrush and make a serious start giving these guys a coat of blue. As I make progress I will keep you all updated. The baby lord of change is a good take on the prince, while the tomb kings power weapons look great. The theme is working

Thanks for the positive comments folks.
Got me some Enchanted Blue the other day and just now had a go at airbrushing it onto the vehicles as a base. Its waaay lighter than I expected, way lighter than it use to be. Compared an old pot of enchanted blue with a new one and the difference is obvious. I'm looking at using an Ultramarines blue for the base instead - something a bit darker. Will have to get same and re-attempt the airbrush thing another day. Untill then I will have to make a start on the scorpion defiler maybe tomorrow. -------------------- |

Ultramarines has a weird purplish tint to it. Thanks for the tip winter but I'm liking the idea of using ultramarines blue to capture that purplish look, I think it will represent tzeentch well.

Army looks awesome mate, the theme is very well executed! Its a wonder that more people dont use the TK range to make 1000 sons????????
The defiler is also very very cool! One thing I never understood though: is it longer than a normal defiler? |

Since people have taken a liking to the scorpion defiler I thought I'd post this WIP sneak peak.
 With 80% of it completed it should be done by the weekend. Looking foward to giving the new paint a test run on sundays games day. -------------------- |

So here it is, ready for the tomorrow. Well, not competely finished - just a few minor touch ups and we can call it finished.
 I'm liking it though I am seriously considering adding a lighter blue paint scheme to it. I'll have a beer or two and think about it. -------------------- |
