In less than ten weeks time, it will be on once again...

ANUCON 2014

A fun and friendly ACT 40k tournament!

Confirmed details:

Dates: Saturday 20th and Sunday 21st September 2014

Size: 1500pts

Games: 6 games (including one pair game which doesn't count for battle points)

Cost: $40, with the usual $5 discount for early payments (received by Friday 5th September). Payments can be made by direct bank deposit or cash on Sunday nights at the ANU Wargaming Society.

Food: Free BBQ lunch + drinks for both days (it's included in the entry fee!)

Army restrictions: No hard restrictions. That's right, you can take an unbound army with a lord of war if you want. Forgeworld is fine too. So are stronghold fortifications. And other formations. As long as you have the rules, it's fine. However, as usual for ANUCON, we will ask for resubmits for lists which we deem ridiculous. We will tell you why we're asking for a resubmit, and provide some recommendations on what needs to be changed. The first resubmit is free, each subsequent resubmit costs you 10% of your overall tournament points. Armies released by 1st August will definitely be allowed, anything after that I'll deal with on a case-by-case basis.

Funky Army List Things: As usual with ANUCON, you have to keep the same warlord and warlord trait table (if applicable) throughout the tournament, so these have to be specified in your army list. You will also have to specify a 1000pt list for the pair game, which uses models from your 1500pt list.

Comp: Panel comp, with panel members' lists and comp scores (as marked by the rest of the panel) released early.

Missions: Maelstrom of War missions from the rulebook. The pair game will be a variant of The Relic, also known as Rugby-With-Guns-And-Tanks.

To be confirmed:

Scoring: 40% Battle*, 40% Sports, 10% Painting (checklist), 10% Army Theme (checklist)
*Battle points moderated by comp score (percentage table TBA).

Prizes: 1st Overall, 2nd Overall, 3rd Overall, Best Sport, Good Sport, Best Painted, Best Theme

HOW TO REGISTER

Email me (Luke N-H) at mrmoowithnounderscore@gmail.com to express your interest in attending and how you wish to pay (bank transfer or cash at ANU Wargaming on Sunday nights), and I'll send you the appropriate details.

I hope to see all of you there!

Luke

EDIT: I'll have the players pack out by next weekend (I hope), and will have cleared up the TBC details by then too hopefully.

Looking forward to it, now to think up a list that won't get bounced immediately.

Comp panel scores (sorry for the delay!):
Rudi's Death Korps of Krieg: 3.75 (99% battle)
John's Imperial Fists: 2.5 (91% battle)
Dougall's Nobz: 3.5 (98% battle)
Tom's 30k World Eaters: 3.5 (98% battle)
Jeff's Eldar: 3 (95% battle)
Dale's Mostly Dark Eldar: 2.25 (88% battle)

*Edit: I've decided to drop the highest and lowest comp scores so that outliers don't aversely affect the final comp score.

Also, as an example of fluff which will get the 2 marks for army theme:

Hey everyone!

10 days out and I've got 21 registrations so far. Prizes have been confirmed with Black Cultist, so we'll have a bunch of boxes of stuff to award people (as well as the two trophies above!)

As a bonus, I'm extending the early payment $5 discount for all payments received by NEXT TUESDAY (16 September), so if you haven't paid yet then feel free to drop by the ANU club on Sunday (I'll be there with the cash box) or drop me an email to get the ANUWGS bank account details for a direct deposit.

Player's pack with all the details is here: http://lnh.id.au/files/ANUCON2014PlayersPack.pdf

I hope to see you all at the tournament next weekend!

Luke

Just sent my list. Hopefully should be easy to mark as it only has 7 models in it.

See you all there tomorrow smile.gif

I'll be the one heavily sleep deprived after a week of exams and finishing work at 2am tomorrow morning. Who wants an easy win first round? armata_PDT_37.gif
