Easter Friday 40K

When? Friday the 3rd of April

What? 1200pts (No Gargantuans/Superheavies - Unbound Allowed, but no proxies are allowed)

How Long? 3 Rounds

When again? 11am Start Time - Yep you get a sleep in smile.gif

How Much? $20 Entry Fee

Why? Easter Themed Missions! and Chocolate! biggrin.gif

Round 1 Bunny Hunt

Briefing

Men your mission is to locate and capture the Easter Bunny. We are sending you to its last know location and scanners have located 3 Bunny holes in the area. You are to proceed directly to the area and search the bunny holes for him at once. It is likely that the enemy has this information as well so expect resistance. Either find him first or take him from them. As a secondary considerations try to destroy as much of the enemy force as possible.

Set Up
Both players roll a D6, Starting with the Player that rolled the highest players alternate placing 3 (total, not each) Chocolate Counters anywhere on the table not within 12" of a table edge or another counter. These represent the bunny holes.

Follow the normal rules for deciding deployment zones and deployment/first turn in the 40k Rule Book.

Special Rules
Chocolate Counter - the First Time a Model (any Model) Ends its movement in B2B with a chocolate counter the controlling player rolls a D6 add +2 for each Chocolate Counter already removed. On a 1-4 remove the Chocolate Counter (you may eat it if you like) on a result of 5+ the Bunny has been located, swap the Chocolate Counter for the Bunny.

The Bunny - Treat the bunny as a normal objective Marker

Victory Conditions
Primary: The Player who controls the Bunny at the End of the game wins. (and can eat it)
Secondary: The Player with the most Kill Points wins the secondary (if its a tie neither player gets the points)

Round 2 Eggs for Everyone

Briefing

Under intense torture The Easter Bunny has started talking. We now know where he was dumping the eggs. Its time to retrieve them. Enemy presence is expected, proceed with caution and try to recover as many eggs as possible. If you can try to secure the area so we can send search teams in.

Set Up

Both Players Roll a D6, starting with the player that scored the highest each player nominates up to 3 pieces of terrain, mark them with a chocolate counter so that you remember. This is where eggs have been hidden.

Follow the normal rules for deciding deployment zones and deployment/first turn in the 40k Rule Book.

Special Rules
Egg Locations - While within or B2B with a marked piece of terrain an Infantry (inc Jump and Jet Infantry) or Bike/Cavalry Unit may search for eggs instead of shooting or running (or anything else they would normally do in the shooting phase). Roll a D6 for each unit searching (simultaneously if multiple units are searching the same piece of terrain) this is the number of eggs they have located, if the total rolled is 5 or higher then all the eggs in that location have been found, remove the counter. Place the number of eggs in base to base with 1 model in the unit so you remember how many each unit has.

Eggs - Eggs move with the units that found them only infantry units can carry eggs. If a unit flees or is destroyed it will drop all its eggs, If a unit is wiped out in close combat one of the units that was responsible automatically picks up the eggs. Eggs on the ground can be picked up by a unit moving within 2" of the egg markers.

Victory Conditions
Primary - The Player with the most eggs at the end of the game wins. (players may now eat their eggs)
Secondary - The Player with the most scoring units within 12" of the centre of the table wins the secondary (if its a tie neither player gets the points)

Round 3 This is my Giant Egg

Briefing

This is it the Easter Bunny has cracked, he has given away the location of the Giant Egg. Its what this whole war has been about. You must capture that egg at all costs.

Set Up
Place the Giant Egg in the middle of the table.

Follow the normal rules for deciding deployment zones and deployment/first turn in the 40k Rule Book.

Special Rules

Giant Egg - Treat the giant egg as a Normal objective, expect that it is impassable Terrain and blocks LOS.

Victory Conditions
Primary - The Player with the most Scoring units with 12" of the Giant Egg wins the game.
Secondary - The Player Who Controls the most Table Quarters wins the secondary. To control a table quarter you must have at least 1 Scoring unit and no enemy units wholly within the table quarter.

Mission Scoring
Win 12pts, Draw 8 Points, Lose 4pts
Secondary 3pts

Remember, games start at 11am, so not only do you get a Public Holiday, a sleep in, games of 40K but also Chocolate!

BTW Possible showers on Friday, just saying if you are going to be indoors, you may as well be having a fun time playing 40K indoors
