WargamerAU Forums _ Warhammer Fantasy & 9th Age _ Games Workshop bring back WHFB?

So aaahhh I assume most people over the last few days have seen this?

https://www.warhammer-community.com/2019/11/15/old-world-new-warhammer/

While the timeline is long and it may not work out to be what we all knew and/or want I am excited that the world of which I loved is getting some attention.

Sales based rules, open to various interpretations, yearly price hikes.

No thanks.

ok yes I felt screwed and probably will again but is there no little glimmer of hope left in any of the dark broken hearts here? I mean most tourneys ran their own rules restrictions anyway and the models don't have to be purchased from GW, you can even download an illegal copy of the AB if you are that way inclined...

I for one hope there is some reasonable basic rules there because smart motivated people who love the hobby will spit and polish the rest.

Cheer up kids.

Why on earth would you want to spend money on half a set of rules where you have to fill in the blanks yourself? This is a terrible attitude to have. Would you accept half a working product from anywhere else?

We have a free set of rules right now that are magnitudes better than GW have ever released.

Sorry but there is no perfect system out there.. I thought that would be obvious...

A half working product is a bit of an exaggeration but interpret my comments how you will. If the current free rules are so good then maybe some re-invigoration and miniature support from I don't know.. one of the biggest miniature companies out there who invented the old world will encourage more people to play whatever rule set your playing.

Excuse me for coming for coming back to a warhammer forum and attempting to make some positive comments on the biggest news we have had for years.

Well, it is good news for some.

I'm going to wait for the rules and see what they do before I get excited.

Hopefully not a complete rewrite of the old WFB rules, but take parts that worked in WFB and what works for AoS.

Mind you, I have AoS now so I do not feel inclined to go backwards, but lets see what happens and what GW decides to bring to the table.

Bit of a wait form the sound of it.
