WELCOME TO OPERATION COBRA

IPB Image

COBRA is a slow grow INFINITY campaign designed for casual play. It is a scaling campaign that can be played with any
faction you choose, in fact multiple factions if you wish, with a new thematic scenario released for FCGG members each month.

++++SCENARIOS++++
Each month, a new scenario will be released. Scenarios will scale up in points, starting with 100. Fireteams of any kind will not be allowed until the points reach 200 points.
COBRA also incorporates the use of Spec Ops models, which can have a new loadout in each game. Spec Ops
models cannot be permanently killed in COBRA, but there may be a benefit for keeping your Spec Ops alive over a run of games.

++++SIDE OPERATIONS++++
Occasionally, a side mission will be posted in addition to the month's main scenario. These side operations are wildly different to the usual games of infinity, but will award extra player points. These side operation will be limited to different regulations which will be announced when a side operation becomes available. An example of a side operation is a four to eight player TAG only battle royale.
Additionally, Side Ops must be played at Good Games Fraser Coast to register for COBRA scores.

++++SCORES++++
Each faction (including sectorials as separate factions) will have its own score. Players will contribute to the
score of a given faction by playing that faction, but they can only add to a faction's score once per month. However they can play again as a different faction and add to that faction score.
Faction scores come directly from objective points gained in missions.
Aside from faction scores, players will have their own scores. Scoring for players will encourage attendance
and involvement, so it is not strictly necessary to win every game with high scores to be on top in the rankings.
Scoring for players is as follows (once per month max., each):
• 3 points for playing a COBRA game
• 1 point for a win
• 1 point for a battle report (any format - just share your battle with others!)

QUOTE
For example, Skedarman (Hassassin Braham) and Amidian (Pan O) spend a lot of time smack talking each other and finally decide to have a game. Amidian scores 4vp and Skedarman scores 5vp, cause’ he’s clearly better. This means that Pan O now has 4 points, while the Hassassin Braham has 5 points. If someone then played Haqqislam and scored 4vp, the Hassassin Braham would still only have 5 points because sectorials are distinct from vanilla factions.
As players, both Skedarman and Amidian will have played a game (+3), and Skedarman won (+1). Amidian decides to write up a quick report featuring the major achievements of his key players (+1). Both players now have 4 points in the overall standings.

++++SPEC OPS++++
Spec Ops models gain experience as normal, but their experience is calculated differently in COBRA. Rather
than basing your exp score on your victory points, COBRA calculates the highest victory points scored in a given round and makes that available to everyone as experience for the next month. This means that Spec Ops models will always have access to the same level of equipment and skills, and that no player will be left behind even if they miss a month.
This also means that playing often (with other factions) is your best chance to get the highest exp - and the most interesting Spec Ops models - for everyone!
Best of all, all Spec Ops start with 5 exp!

++++POST-GAME PLAYER RESPONSIBILITIES++++
As a player in a COBRA game, it is your responsibility to get the following information after a match, either contacting the organizer (Skedarman) or leaving a report sheet with Good Games Fraser Coast:
1) The names of both players
2) Which faction was played by which player
3) What objective point totals were achieved and for what objectives (incl. Classified Objectives)
4) Slow Grow Mission I.D. number

++++REWARDS++++
Rewards will be announced at a later date.

~SIDE OPERATION~

IPB Image

SO: BLIND HAND
AUGUST

Points: (Special)
SWC : 1
Limitations: Must be Faction Spec Op Model, 3+ Players. NO PROXIES
http://i.imgur.com/xsDZC.jpg

Special:
Players may choose one of their chosen Factions Spec Op profiles. The player may then use any points that remain from a total of 50 to use as XP to customize their Spec Op.
Eg:
A Husam Spec Op using a Ghulam profile costs 12 points, giving the player 38 XP points to use on the Spec Op.
Whilst a Husam Spec Op using a Muyib profile is 24, leaving only 26 XP points instead.

Use Infinity Army builder to design your Spec Op.
Goal:
First player to get 10 kills wins the match.
Rewards
1 Player Point for participating
1 Player Point for winning.
Each Faction represented gains 1 Cobra Point.

Set Up:
8 bases will be marked 1-8 and randomly placed by players. These are Spawn points for the Spec Ops.

To determine which Spawn point a Spec Op begins at is by rolling a D8 and placing the Spec Op at the corresponding marker. When a Spec Op is killed, (Killed, not wounded), the owning player may roll a D8 and “respawn”.

Any model standing on a Spawn point when another model uses it is immediately killed, but doesn’t count towards any other models kill count.

A model may move onto a spawn point and warp to another spawn point rolling the D8.

Wow Sked - grats on an awesome sounding Slow Grow. This is a massive opportunity for someone to learn Infinity. I really like the idea of playing more than one faction, my gameradhd is gonna be ok cause I can play Pan O and Combine.

Count me in for sure

Infinity miniatures are known for the fun they are to put together, everything else becomes a breeze.

I've put up the scenario for the first month which will be July, HEAVENS GATE.

A side operation may be posted similar to the game me and bubba were planning as a "demo, intro to infinity" for newer players to get to grips with the system.

I'll add ya in.

A reminder, you can play multiple games as different factions to boost Faction scores.

Eg. Haqqislam player can do another game as sectorial Qapu Kahki and another as Hassassin Braham to give them improvements each.

OK,if "Iron "rusty" fist " is in....than I'm in to. I'll be bringing Nomads and will have to slowly,very slowly,slip into that game. Sort of mini by mini, as they come of my painting table. If that's possible and does not interrupt the serious gamers,I'm in. armata_PDT_34.gif

well it's designed for that, so people can slowly build up their collections month by month, maybe the start is too ambitious?

would people prefer the first month to be running 50p games instead? that could be anywhere from 1-3 models depending what you take.

Heya, put me down for Nomads thanks. As someone who is brand new to the game I'd prefer a 50pt start and +50pt each round. I fully expect this whole thing to be a learning experience for me, my concern is that if it ramps up too quickly I'll be in the same position I am with Hordes, three games in and still have no idea because the games over by round 2.

If that's too slow and everyone want to depend thats fine, I'm still in I'll just have a confused look on my face most of the game biggrin.gif

You will be in good company then BA lol. Infinity can take a bit too learn but I think you will find with "kill match" games not being the norm you will get beyond round 2 most of the time

OK,I'm no stranger to overpriced,ill fitting and fiddly minis,but Infinity minis take the cake! With an average of three hours per mini to put together,cleaning up casting lines and getting the position for arms and hands on guns right,I'm looking at a few long nights ahead....and now ,I find out,that my Reverent Moira hacker has her right arm missing. Instead I have two parts,that look like shoulder pats....?!? Arrggghhh. This is just not my weekend.....
