Heaps of quad guns, a couple of lascannons and one huge bloody fortress?

How did people find playing against them and with them after Orkfest?

They were fine, not game breaking, although it will be nicer when xenos get army specific fortifications.

No problem playing against them.
Very tempted to drop the defence line in my list but big, scary, evil, engine bum flyer from chaos may see it stay.

Yeah, I think I need more of an answer to fliers than three suits with twin linked missile pods armata_PDT_10.gif

I found the fortress to be fairly restrictive most of the time, it boxed me into corners on most games, though it gave units a lot of survivability, it took to long to get units out and back intoth game, as they were either behind the fortress or have to leap from the battlements.

The weapons on it were good, bit unreliable, the silo kept missing all weekend, only once did it hit.

Most people also isn't bother shooting at it, only Wes destroyed it, and that really took my army apart, and. Large amount of firepower at once.

I'm going to be giving it a few more runs over the next few weeks, though I think as long as there's room for it to deploy it will be worth taking.

Suprised that I was the only one to take the fortress down, mind you some bull###### rolling on my part did most of the damage in our game. One lascannon shot to destroy the tower, imobilize a contemptor out of los and kill 2 scouts.... Then 3 hullpoints off the stormeagle using the quad guns inteceptor shots leading to it crashing (yes extra armour is a must), killing an entire tac squad.....

I think you found that answer - 1 big bloody rail gun shot when it went into hover mode worked pretty well tongue.gif

Just another crazy moment during that game biggrin.gif

That game was awesome! I am pretty sure we are both up on how the quad gun works now. The fact that a rhino was firing it at one stage was hilarious! armata_PDT_14.gif

Will be using that if I get a defence line. Perfect job for a gunless vindicator.

Obviously, that's why Land Raiders have side hatches, right? Must model one of those with a guy leaning out...
