Hello one and all and welcome to the CONVIC 2017

CONVIC is a two day tournament with the winner receiving direct entry to the 2017 Australian Masters. If a player can only play one day they can enter as a one day tournament. Each day their will be a 'best general of the day' to encourage as many players as possible across the weekend.

Date: 8th and 9th of July

Venue: Burden Park Bowling Club, 880-924 Heatherton Rd, Springvale South VIC 3172

Time: 08:00 Registration, 16:30 Completion Saturday
08:30 Arrival, 17:00 Completion Sunday

Tournament style: 7 games format. 4 games on Saturday and 3 games Sunday.

Armies: Saturday games 1000pts, 1000pts, 1500pts & 1500pts. Sunday games are 2000pts, 2000pts & 2000pts. Armies must be from the same faction but can be different lists per point scale. Therefor 3 lists for the weekend. Please see player pack for more information.

Rounds: 1000 points is 40 minutes per player including deployment
1500 points is 50 minutes per player including deployment
2000 points is 60 minutes per player including deployment

Scenarios: Pre determined and announced in player pack before list submissions due. Scenarios will be generated from new Clash of Kings supplement and none repeated.

Player match ups: Grudge matches can be organised for Day 1. Games on Saturday will follow Swiss chess style match ups and will be coordinated on TTT. If enough players then the swiss chess match up will continue for all seven games. However if there are not enough Day 2 will have players seeded and will then be matched up again for Swiss chess match ups. If a player is new on the Sunday they enter at the middle of the field. This will cause a maximum of playing the same player twice, no more.

Trophies: For 1st, 2nd and 3rd after the two days.
Best general of each day
Best painted (judged by an external judge)

Prizes: Will be dependent on support from sponsorship with the aim to give as many players prizes as possible.

Special note: Should the international campaign day fall on the CONVIC weekend all practical adjustments will be made to accommodate to enable participation. Organisers are well versed in the international campaign format......

Hi.

I have sent an email to Andrew G, but incase this is the better place to ask:

Query regarding terrain.

The pack says:

Terrain :
The terrain will be placed using the ‘map pack’ maps which will be printed and attached to each table. Heights will be - Woods 4, Buildings 4, Hills 2, Obstacles 1 and Difficult terrain like fields, rivers, lakes, etc 0
************

However, the most recent FAQ has 'flat' and 'Height 0' as different. Lakes/rivers etc are usually 'Flat' and Fields would be 'Height 0'. These play differently.

Are you planning to update the player pack to align with the FAQ?

Ah I downloaded mine 26/4. The one I just downloaded shows it was updated 27/4 if I look at edits.

No version numbers used so I didn't realise there was a new one put up the day after I downloaded.

Anyway, now it's the OTHER way around. I thought Fields were supposed to be 'Height 1'.

I don't think there's a supposed to be's it's what the TO wants. Fields were flat at cancon
