Anyone have any ideas for colours??? Skin, armour and/or weapons??? Cheers foam im just waiting for a few parts to finish the first 4 off. I think they'd be particularly cool if you themed them as a Khorne army, the goat-y-nes definitely fits. -------------------- |

White armour or fur and a contrasting colour.... -------------------- "When the pin is pulled, Mr. Grenade is not our friend." -

I think throwing in some of the 2ed stuff Forge World is making would really go with your theme and fluff

^This. Mix it up though. If you havnt read it, read soul hunter. Great book, great fluff, and opens so many doors into life as marines without a forge world for supplies. They have very limited resources so steal gear from the dead (friend and foe alike) to patch repair their armour. Your beast marines could do that as long as you file off all aquilas.
Like the idea and the fact you havnt just thrown goat legs on marines, you have mixed it up nicely and they now look beefy (or whatever the goats meat equivilant to beef is) Look forward to seeing them done but for colour scheme I would go something simple. If they were a first founding legion, they all had simple schemes so just pick a scheme that hasnt been chosen by them and away you go. Adding chaos embellishments wherever wanted. Cheers dude, Ronin I'll have a look for it. Sounds like a cool idea. Yes, beefy...gamey? Is goat meat game meat? As for colour, I think something basic too. I like the idea of white, bone or soft grey fur...prob not armour cause the White Scars are white. But a striking contrasting colour for the armour. Light Blue? White/grey/bone fur? Then what other colour for the armour? Thanks for all your input guys Nic -------------------- "When the pin is pulled, Mr. Grenade is not our friend." -

Well it doesnt need to be a unique colour scheme, white scars, lunar wolves and world eaters were all white. Nothing to say yours cant be an off white or light bone colour.
By second ed I think he means the pre heresy patterns of power armour you can buy from FW. Its all the old marks that used to show up in the old editions but done well and in resin. Why not have chaotic coloured fur?? They are mutants after all, nothing to say they cant mix and match colours of fur... Like real goats. Try a couple of test models of different ideas and see what you like. Cheers dude, Ronin -------------------- GW free since Jan 2011

The goats with guns idea is cool... But you would need to give them uniforms and at least some body armour. Just slapping lasguns on beastmen reeks of laziness and I doubt it would really 'click' if you were to put them next to your marines.
If you do though, you could totally bring back the 3rd ed chaos codex... Alpha Legion had rules for taking human cultists. Tournaments wouldnt let it slide but itd be great fun for friendlies This post has been edited by Ronin: Mar 14 2012, 05:50 AM -------------------- GW free since Jan 2011

Just wanna ask, people may think this is outta left field, could these guys be loyalists??? Back in old editions of 40k beastmen were seen as a imperial abhuman race. maybe the emperor saw a use for their increased strength and ferocity and approved a space marine legion to be made.
This may be a stretch for some GW fans but why wouldn't the emperor take advantage of these beings? Maybe at the end of the hours heresy he ordered them excommunicatus and all records of their existance expunged. Am open to any ideas or thoughts.... Dont see why not. Theres an obscure reference to ogryns being made into marines but it went horribly wrong because they just degenerated into psychopaths after a while.
Maybe the same thing happened but instead of degenerating they were just more suseptable to chaos and he couldnt risk it. -------------------- GW free since Jan 2011
