Scoutmax unfortunately Friday nights are the only nights that we really play wargames but we run mini tournaments every month. I have not advertised these on WAU for the fact that we generally only have room for 16 gamers so do not want there to be too much demand.

Behemoth there is just the $2 fee to come and join us at our sessions. The first two sessions are free. We have no annual fee or anything like that. So please do come along and see what we are about!

Do any of you guys play historical wargames? I live a fair way away but nobody at Southern plays my period and I have a mate at St Marks which I take it is near you...

Hmm... not yet besides a bit of Flames of War and Blitzkrieg Commander. Do you have enough miniatures for two people to play because if you do you will get interested people and from there it is only a short step to people purchasing the necessary stuff to play.

I have looked at historical and ancients but really did not know where to start but if you come along and run a demo game or two you will probably find you have a convert.

I'm still barely learning the rules myself but as soon as I have a grasp I'll drop in. Rules could even be used for something like Marines fighting a cultist uprising etc. with 40k minis to get people into it.

I'm all for crossing the gaming streams. We are pretty much open to anything gaming wise down here as we are all a bit mad.

Well if you need help nutting out the rules bring it along.

Over uni holidays we get a little quiet as a large chunk of our gamers come from Mt Gambier and Penola. Could be a good time to get something happening ready for when everyone gets back???

HISTORICAL you say? is that the GW historical miniatures? what period do you play?

I don't play it personally, but it's the kind of thing I could get into tongue.gif

I don't know the guy you mention, but then I'm from the mount, though I know quite a few Penola folk, Mez would be your best bet there

I'm reasonably sure Hagrid is the world's only Scotch based life form.

Ever heard of a band called Three Nations? I think they played in the Mount a fair bit. I play moderns mate, with 15mm... I've ordered the ruleset by Ambush Alley, but I'm also working on a conversion of the 40k rules. Miniatures are cheap and quite nice depending on the company, and actually a lot easier to paint than 28mm. I can shoot you some links if you like.

Where is the new venue? I'm intrigued...

Doin' fine Adrian...As for the chops, I went out last night to the Gambier Hotel for some christmas eve shenanigans...my chops got many compliments. People walk past me and the look on their faces says "The Chops-messiah has arrived, look not upon me ye mighty"
