We are pleased to announce that Registrations for the ACT of Heresy 30K event are now open, attendance is limited to 2036 places, 1018 Loyalist and 1018 Traitors armies only, each made up of 2,500 points.

This event will be a two day premium event using the Horus Heresy 30K rule set run out of the Dickson Tradies Club function room; private room, air conditioned, licensed venue, narrative driven! A full players pack will be released closer to the date, however the games will include zone mortalis tables, combined player tables (more than two players on the same table) and Primarch encounter tables.

There will be four rounds over the course of the event, two rounds per day, with a generous lunch break between rounds to allow players to relax, socialise and visit Cancon if they want. In the evening of the first day we will be having a social dinner at the club followed a Quiz night.

For the super keen we are also contemplating a casual 30K Apoc/mixed play on the Monday for those interested and not needing to get back home (remember Tuesday is a public holiday biggrin.gif ).

Accommodation is available on site at the Tradies Quality Hotel or in the surrounding area.

If you have questions or would like to register your interest please be sure to email the TO's on:
act.of.heresy@aus30k.com

I've sent a sign up email smile.gif

This is right near the end of school holidays (us staff usually go back on the wednesday) so I will be able to make this one, yay! biggrin.gif

I had a question about models in the email, would you like me to post it here for others' reference?

I was wonderng what the guidelines on 30k models and colours were going to be?

For example, my Luna Wolves are set late heresy / early post heresy and are in their own colours, not traditional sons of horus / luna wolves colours

As for models, I do have some 30k models but most of my armies are a kit bash of all kinds of marks of armour, so most of it wouldn't be the forgeworld 30k models
(same with tanks etc: except for the Spartans they are all 40k models)

Good questions;

Painting: There are no requirements to have a 'correct' colour scheme for the Legion you are playing, my Imperial Fists are painted as Templars. However we do discourage outright subbing of one Legion for another, for example having Sons of Horus icongraphy painted on everything quite prominently but playing them as Salamanders or something like (unless your Alpha tongue.gif ), mainly to reduce confusion.

Models: Again certainly no requirements to have Forge World only or Heresy only models. 40K plastic rhinos/predators are more than acceptable instead of the 30K Deimos pattern. Likewise for marks of power armour. Alternative models need to be in line with the intended unit and counts as are discouraged if the original model looks like an existing unit, for example using a Spartan as a Typhon or a Storm Eagle as Fire Raptor.

And the first 20 players are now booked. Any registrations recieved from now will be added to the reserve list, if people withdraw or fail to pay the registration fee, the next person in line will be contacted to confirm that they are still interested.

Thats awesome, thanks Dono, I Will be there now biggrin.gif

The closest I will have to a counts as would be 40k possessed as gal vorbak (with bolt pistols and boltguns scattered around amongst them) if I decide on Word Bearers.

As for my Luna Wolves, while story wise they take recruits from many legions, they ARE Luna Wolves, and I have waited years to be able to take them as themselves, rather than using whatever codex is closest to their fluff. So ragardless of power levels, the purple and green guys will always be Luna Wolves biggrin.gif

In any case, everything is WYSIWYG, so should be all good.

Am excited! Now to decide on what units to take ... that part is always so hard in 30k, too much cool stuff to choose from!

Waiting list has been started, the people on this list will be offered places in the event of confirmed players pulling out in order of their emails and factions. The event is a long way off, so if you are still interested please let us know so that you reserve your spot in case others pull out.

Paid, also decided to take the Word Bearers to this one, would fit the narrative better and will get me off my arse and get them finished, so put me down as a traitor wink.gif

Thank you all for the continued interest in the event and we will continue to add people to the Waiting/Reserve list as people contact us, however Dave and I just wanted to let people know that the player cap for the event is not in place in order to make the event an elite/exclusive affair. Yes we are doing our best to make this a premium event with great location, prizes, terrain and activities, but we always wanted to try and attract as many players as possible however we certainly weren't expecting such an overwhelming response so early in the piece.

The main factors limiting our numbers are venue and terrain. The venue we have chosen is ideal for our needs in location and amenities but its space is finite and can only fit a certain number of gaming tables in there before becoming crowded. Terrain is also an important one, Dave and I both believe that an important element of the event should be great tables to play on and we want to ensure that the players experience that.

To this end while we would love to open up the event to even more people we simply do not think that the venues or ourselves could handle many more people than we are currently catering for.

After a very long and intensive discussion with Dave we have decided to increase the player cap at ACT of Heresy next year. Our biggest concern was whether we would be able to maintain the quality of the tables, the terrain and of course the narrative for all of the players involved.

We are confident that we can achieve this and as such we are increasing the player cap to 36. Players who were previously on the waiting list have now been contacted and invited to the event. If you know of other people interested in the event please let them know as we anticipate that the new spots will sell out quite quickly.

Hi all, we have had a last minute withdrawal and there is currently a SINGLE spot available for the ACT of Heresy event next week.

Ideally we are after a Traitor but we can make another Loyalist work.

If you are interested you will need:
- 2,500 points of painted army (no Primarch)
- of which you need to make a 1,000 point Zone Mortalis list

and then contact me ASAP!
