OK, so this has been a long time coming, but we've finally set up a thread for Hampton Games Club.

For those that don't know, we're a Melbourne club that has been running since 1998, and specialises in Warhammer Fantasy and 40K. We also play games like Blood Bowl, Necromunda, Mordheim, BFG, etc.

We meet pretty much every week and average somewhere between 20-25 players a session. Skills range from beginner to "Master" wink.gif

Further details are available at www.hamptongc.com.

We will make sure this thread is checked regularly, I promise.

Greg Johnson
(HGC President)

Hi my names is James Fazzolari and I am a player returning to the game after extended absence (school related, VCE etc.).

I used to be a top tier fantasy player, now have decided to play 40K. I am looking for a club that can keep me motivated to keep painting (feel free to dig into me for been lazy!), challenge me to improve my skills (which, in regards to to 40K, are minimal) and that can keep me informed with upcoming tourneys, club challenges, inter-club events and so on.

I return, I offer my services as an avid gamer, willing to learn and listen. I am pretty nifty with modelling and terrain so am happy to help in this regard also.

If Hampton is open to someone like me, I would love to join!

regards, james fazzolari

drop in whenever you want James, i dont speak for the club, but theres no such thing as too many 40k players. I am new to Hampton myself, but they are very welcoming.

Hi all,

I'm in the same boat as James... however unlike him I'm getting back into fantasy - and am furiously converting up a CD army smile.gif I'd love to get some games in with them but am curious as to what the clubs stance on not finished models is (i.e. I have not yet purchased maruader arms for my boys)

Hopefully i'll head down to the club soon.

Cheers, Sam

Hi Sam,

We're very flexible about unfinished models and the like. People sometimes use proxies to try out new stuff, and unpainted models are a common enough sight. Nobody will be in the least bit concerned. Come along for a game!

Cheers,
Greg

Hey man, good to see you round.

Most of the regular experienced 40k players are playing necro, but im pretty sure Jack will be keen to give you a game with his Guard.

Hey guys, I will be arriving in the Melbourne region for Uni in February, very keen to source out the local clubs and get some games in against new opposition!

I may as well introduce myself here, Sam, 22 from Launceston Tasmania.
I play 40k and am currently working on building 2k points worth of Thousand sons themed Chaos marine army, currently have only 750ish points but that'll change! Previously I have built a small Nid force (750pts) and around 1500pts of Space Wolves.

Anyway, I'll be moving into a flat in Brunswick, not sure if this is the closest club but it's certainly easy to get to with the train system you guys have here, so worth checking out!

Looking forward to meeting some of you guys when I'm settled into Melbourne!

Sam.

Telstar 0101:
The club, as you say, is not particularly close, but it is very close to a station so easy to access. Wedon't really play a lot of 40k at the moment (we have sporadic bouts), but we do have a heap of 40k terrain so if you have someone you want to play with, it's all here! And were *awesome* to hang out with, so that'd have to make it worth it! wink.gif

We're just near Hampton Station, on the Sandringham line. 12noon, Saturdays.

Munch:
Most of us play BB, but that's fairly sporadic, too. If we do start up a league at any point, I'll try and let you know.

Currently i have a Chaos Space Marine and army, IG, BFG Orks and Possessed BB team itching to be played.
