After all my talk to try and get some of us to give an RPG ago. I picked up a Pathfinder beginner box. once i think i have a good feel for it i will GM a game and see if we have enough interest to invest in core rule books and what not. i have ordered minis that i will get painted up. hopefully there's enough of us with enough imagination to give this a good go! if not i will cope the $100 i have spent, and find a new club! i wont bring it along for a few months yet!

After doing some research on the first campaign i want run if we get through the beginner box and want to continue. Its going to be way to expensive and time consuming to buy and paint miniatures for all monsters and plot characters. I will buy minis for the big monsters and fights but most monsters will be like this
IPB Image
IPB Image
there are several bestiary books for pathfinder which detail all monsters and for each book there is a box of hard card tokens. and some of the adventure paths ( campaign books) have their own boxes of card tokens. im still happy to paint player characters (if people don't want to paint their own) and "boss" minis.. All of this doesnt really matter yet as we may not want to continue once we try it.

sorry about the MASSIVE picture!

Sounds fair to me. We don't need models for everything anyway. Imagination is key to this stuff!

Yeah definitely imagination. Dont need minis for everything.

Also if watching Zero Charisma yesterday taught me anything its that if its not fun its the games masters fault.
Cody dry.gif ..... lol

Edit: Also those little card things in your huge picture are really cool any way.

Yeah I'm cool with the cards.
I don't mind if we use nothing aswell.

Was that zero charisma any good?

it was good in a bad way. there were a few nerd laughs. there's one or 2 scenes with miniatures that cracked me up. its pretty much a movie showing nerds how non nerds see nerds lol. With a few life lessons thrown into the mix. but for a kickstarter movie or ( indigogo) it was watchable.

This guys has a whole series of introduction videos for path finder. he has done a good by using a noob in the video and explaining things to her. the videos are around 40min each so quite lengthy but some of you might find the time to watch/use/enjoy them

It was about the extreme end of the nerd spectrum though. Had some funny parts but was pretty bad. Tried way to hard.

I found a Pathfinder Module 3.5 compatible, it was freebie from when I was in the states.

"We Be Goblins" for 1st level characters.

Let me know if you want me to drop it around, etc.
