So I'm looking for somewhere I can buy some mordheim terrain and I'm finding it a bit of a challenge.

I found this place:

http://www.miniaturebuildingauthority.com/...opean+Buildings

Which has a few options but not really enough on the ruined buildings, walkways and so on.

I found this place:

http://www.tabletop-world.com

But it looks like most of their really good stuff is discontinued.

I thought these might not be a bad place to start either:

http://www.red-dragon-terrain.com/28mm-city.html

Though obviously I'd have to make them more tudorey.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Those tabletopWorld guys do amazing stuff but they might be a tad expensive.

Only other thing I can think of is HirstArts or making stuff from scratch, see my scenery ( here ) if you wanna see what I've made from scratch

I'm currently making a full table's worth of terrain... strangely, cutting and glueing roof shingles becomes relaxing...

Anyway, I recommend building your own, if you have the time. It's probably cheaper at least. CNC Workshop make some nice simple and affordable medieval style buildings, but they're not ruined. Hirst Arts stuff is pretty cool, but expensive and time consuming.

Having thought a bit about it what I want on the table I think I'm going to try and build the following stuff:

I want a river/aqueduct/semi artificial watercourse with a few different bridges over it, I want an end piece with a lake/fountain/water feature so that I can have the option of having it run either the entire width of a 4x4 board or part way across the board and then terminating.

I want a couple of raised pieces (say three inches high, two feet long by a foot wide) so that I can have a few different levels on the battlefield, and some stairs to get up the things.

I want a bunch of ruined buildings, most of them little two storey tudor style houses, one big coaching inn type thing (probably three stories) for when you have "defend the building" type missions, and one building with a really tall (three or four level) tower (like a church or a clock tower or something).

I want a bunch of ladders and walkways to string between things, the challenge is that I want these to look like rope bridges and rope walkways so it looks like the remaining inhabitants of mordheim have strung them up so that they can move from building to building while staying out of reach of zombies, dire wolves and other assorted grieblies that are running around the streets of mordheim. The aim is to make all of the buildings and such look old (and recently ruined by meteor shower badness) and all the ladders and walkways look like recent ad hoc additions.

Yeah sounds like you're after really customised terrain, I'd suggest making it yourself.

I have heaps of left over cities of death terrain walls that I'm going to use to make a raised area/ fort.

So really the skies the limit when you're making it yourself.

Hirst Arts will be very time consuming, expensive and heavy to make full/lots of buildings out of.

Id suggest using Foam Core to make your ruined buildings out of. Much cheaper, quicker and easier...

Ill bring some stuff Ive done on Sunday to give you an idea of what you can do with it.

Sounding good Neon Samurai,

The Miniature Scenery CNC Workshop stuff is great and at a decent price point too. I know a few site sponsors stock them. The way they are designed makes it really easy to "ruin" them up a bit.

I went the CNC route as an upgrade to my old Mordheim terrain, I'll upload a few pics if you're interested.

Here's a few buildings,

The beauty of the CNC stuff is that it’s completely modular so you can achieve any building design you want (within reason). There made from 3mm MDF so working with them is fairly easy, it also means that you can grab a sheet of 3mm Foam Board and go to town substituting the MDF pieces with "ruined" foam board bits, just measure the MDF piece (or trace) onto the foam board and then you have a replacement piece that is easy to do whatever with.

Wow, that's awesome work there MasteR, I was leaning in the direction of grabbing some molds and casting a bunch of bits but I think you may have just changed my mind.

How many CNC buildings did you get to kitbash that terrain up? What did you use for the fireplaces/fieldstone bits?

They would be hirstarts pieces, some people sell these precast so that you don't have to wasted your time and money buying the molds and casting them.

I'd highly recommend the CNC stuff, it was a great choice for me.
Check them out (Google miniature scenery).

I wanted to go all out with my terrain revamp (well all out for me anyway) so I decided to replace the bottom walls with foam board, measured the same height as the MDF ones and used some plastic molded stone sheets. I also replaced the MDF chimney with Hirst Arts blocks. That’s the beauty of these kits IMO, their modularity means you can replace/enhance/remove/modify any piece you want to add more detail/narrative/individuality.
I've seen the entire bottom floor section of these buildings replaced with the Hirst Arts blocks and the top floor simply placed on top, works really well.

For the Hirst Arts stuff I got mine from Griffin Grove Gaming (site sponsor)
http://miniatures.griffingrove.com.au/
It’s only a matter of cents per cast and they have the whole range of moulds + Ian is really helpful and friendly.

I only photographed some of my buildings I've got a whole table set made with the CNC stuff, I guess I've bought in the vicinity of 15 or so individual buildings in total, if you go that path grab the "bundle" deals it knocks a bunch of the price of bulk building purchases.

It's funny, I'd looked at the CNC stuff early on (one of the guys at the club owns some) but I'd discarded it as a possibility because it didn't look ruined enough.

I think you may have succeeded in changing my mind.

I think I might aim for using some hirst arts stuff to cast the ground floor rock/brick-work (and possibly that church I mentioned earlier, some bridges, stairs and walls) and use the CNC stuff as the basis for the upper floors of the buildings.

Three tavern combos should give me more than enough bits to get me started right?

I'll go trawling through the hirst arts molds, are there any that are must haves?

With a sheet of foam board you'll be set for life!

Depends on what you want. To answer your previous question I did go the fieldstone moulds, but rather than buying the moulds and plaster and casting myself I got Griffin Grove to do it all for me, great service.

The internal floor tiles are mould #203.
