WFB League of Gents - No Guts!! No Glory!!

Date: 29th of November.

Start time: 10.15am.

End time: 5.00pm or sooner.

Rounds: 3.

Cost: $15 (which will all be thrown at prize support)

Maximum number of places: 10.

Army/Player restrictions:

Army lists are due no later than the 26th of Novemeber, your soul will be feed to my Bloodthirster if you are cheeky and send them late. Submit army lists to here barone2004@hotmail.com.

It is highy advisible that player preregister for the event (sending me your army list of expressing an interest for a place), payments are due on the actual day.

Special characters are allowed.
No back of the book armies with the sole exception of Storm of Choas and then only the dedicated Trollslayer army list.
No Proxying models but "count as" is fine provided it represent the approiate troop type. (double check with me before the event if your unsure).
WIP armies are greatly encouraged.

As a player you are required to bring on the day.
- Yourself.
- A positive attitude.
- Sufficient dice.
- A current rulebook.
- Your current army book.
- Your armylist

As a TO I do reserve the right to ask a player to resubmit if you bring a truly borken list.

Battle Points:

Victory Points Margin = Battle Points: (Win/Loss)
0-200 = 10/10
201-400 = 11/9
401-600 = 12/8
601-800 = 13/7
801-1000 = 14/6
1001-1200=15/5
1201-1400=16/4
1401-1650=17/3
1651-1900=18/2
0-2000+=19/1 (Hey you crushed you opponent utterly, they deserve at least 1 point for facing you)

Comp/Sports scoring:

It makes a TO's life easier, in that there's no pre-event extra work for the TO apart from the standard list checking. It also incorporates peer marking, that has minimal impact on the whole thing, but still gives players the chance to participate in the process. It also reduces the double whack some of the harder armies get, and the extra leg up softer armies get.

So for a 3 game tournament the set-up for Comp would be:

All armies start on the following points:
• 2pts - Vampire Counts
• 3pts - Daemons of Chaos, Dark Elves
• 3.5pts - Wood Elves, Tomb Kings
• 4pts - High Elves, Empire, Warriors of Chaos, Lizardmen, Skaven, Bretonnians
• 4.5pts – Chaos Dwarfs, Dwarfs, Dogs of War, Orcs & Goblins
• 5pts - Ogre Kingdoms, Beasts of Chaos

At the end of the game players can then mark an army equal to or down from the starting value based on their impression of playing against the army.

• It's what I expected to see here. 0 points
• An over the top and tooled out army -1 point

There is no bonus applied to armies deemed to be soft or “comp friendlly"

Players will therefore receive a total of between 6 to 15 composition points for the category.

Sportsmanship:

5 Points - Awesome! is the only word to describe the player and the game.
4 Points - The kind of opponent you expect to play - nice, fair, friendily.
3 Points - Fair and friendily, had rules disputes but was manly enough not to cry over them.
2 Points - Opponent was ok, but a number of aspects of the game left a bitter taste.
1 Point - Stab myself in the eye with a sharp stick than play this opponent again.

Paint Scoring: - (will be marked by the TO over the course of the day)

The painting score is designed to make players paint their armies to a minimum standard and encourage the better painters amongst us to strive to do their best. You don’t have to be a golden deamon winner to score full points. Most armies if they have had some effort put into them will score well.

1pt All models painted with a minimum of 3 colours
1pt All models based and flocked
1pt Bases have been based with 2 different materials or above average effort has been made
1pt All models inked/highlighted
1pt Army has a consistent feel.
1pt Some models have had minor conversions
1pt The army has a major conversion or a large number of minor conversions.
1pt The characters are unique and umm….full of character!
1pt The army has painted/flocked movement trays
1pt All models represent their troop type (conversions/non GW minis are fine, it just needs to be obvious what they are being used as)

An additional 1-3 points can be earned for exceptional paint/conversion jobs.

So Overall scores: Out of a possible 100.

Battle Points: 3 to 57
Comp: 6 to 15
Sports: 3 to 15
Painting: 0 to 13

Prize placing will naturally be determined by turnout, but I am aiming for.
Best Overall.
Best General.
Best Painted.
Best Sportsman.

Also aiming for some WIP/Encouragement award.

Comments:
A remarkably smooth day with the exception of the morning minor hiccup. Thanks to Area 52 for the use of the store, tables, terrain and a special thanks to Simon for his incredible helpfulness on the day, Tony and the ladies downstairs for not killing us all for running a little overtime. The tournament pack is by no means 'set in concrete', any feedback will be taken on board and considered for what it's worth.

Maybe in the May school holidays. But that's pretty optional at this point.
