Ok guys, here are the army lists for the SA 40k Masters this year.

I would like to thank our panel of list writers from Queensland; Josh McGowan, Sheldon McGowan, Dave Flemming and Pat Carter. Just to speak a bit of the credentials of these guys, we have Josh who is ranked no. 1 in Aus, Dave who is last years Aus Master and former High Lords of Terra winner, and Sheldon and Pat who have both been in the top 20 ranked players in Aus this year. I think its interesting to see what the Queenslanders have done. For the sake of balance for example: they have exluded anything above AV13, as last year, I tried to include something in every army to deal with AV14, but that didnt work that well, so rather than have AV14 units in armies with an advantage, they have just exluded them.

I think there are a couple of lists that are a tad weaker than those lists of last year, but overal they are all quite evenly matched.

Ditto,

We had trouble with the Nid's list last year too.

I think though it does have some power people are underestimating though.

I just hope nobody plays Tyranids in SA next year and we can swap them out for Necrons smile.gif

GKs, Deldar and Eldar all seem quite nice (especially the first two), the others a bit softer.

I'd be most comfortable wit hthe Eldar list, it being extremely similar to waht I used to run (including the storm guardians armata_PDT_04.gif)

GK list looks the most powerful on paper. I'd not feel silly at all taking it to a 1500 point no-comp tourney.

I'd definitely be least comfortable with the nid list.

All must remember that all lists will be in random hands. while on paper some seem stronger the general may not use it properly. the nid list is preety ruthless in the right hands. check all lists for their inbiilt weaknesses thet are in there.

Some we struggled with to make weaker but was model dependant and the optons were limited.

And it will come down to missions biggrin.gif have fun and hopefully u can design our listsobe day

I think one of the oversights of the Grey Knights is most other Marines equivalents have Transports for there Troops, while the GK's dont. At the same time, the Grand Master can make more Troops, but still, there is a weakness in there.

Also, the Purifiers are combat built too, so its not instant 'Purifier Spam' that it looks first up.

We had a bit of trouble pegging back both the guard and GK mostly due to the model list we had to work with and the fact that they are both fantastic dexes. The guard list was little easier by adding a few less then optimal wargear choices but the GK model list just didnt have the variety..

Overall though I dont think any one list is capable of steam rolling through all missions. It'll come down to generalship as always.

Good luck guys and have some fun!

One well placed is better than 2 lol j/k where would u find 76-152 points without weakening the list

So am I smile.gif

I am particularly excited to be a player this year, last year I had to bite my tongue from the sidelines... this year Cmdr Roy is coming over to TO and the Queenslanders wrote the lists, so its on like Donkey Kong smile.gif

Pups will be interesting.

The Thunderlord and Fenrisian Wolves are units I have used before, and the Thunderwolf Lord hates S10... but there is not too much S10 out there, and he could probably do quite well in the hands of a picky player!

The rest of the list is typical Space Wolves except the Blood Claws and Iron Priest... that will be an interesting 1st turn Drop Pod delivery... but what to do with it!!
