started to read but to my mind getting way to complex I think for 10 people for what is only a count back criteria

Play 3 rnds - if 1 player on 3 wins they win - if 2 players on 3 wins they play a deciding game against each other - simple

Hmm, thats not a bad idea,

So you think if there are 2 players on 3 wins after round 3, they we simply go a 4th round? if not, leave it at 3?

I actually like this in comparison to a bonus point system, straight wins and loss is always nice and easy.

Yes! I don't mind playing a 4th game if someone else can go 3-0 with me :-)

Oh a thought on the Amy Draw.
Based on rankings Drawing from 10th to 1st from a hat
Then Based on losses to draws to wins.

Yeah, we did that in years past, except started with highest ranked person first.

There isn't really an advantage to going in any order, its about as random as it gets smile.gif

Ok,

So this looks fairly popular.

Seems like we have had confirmation from Josh, Adam and neil, plus add myself and Alun that 3 games, winner based on win/loss ratio and if there is a tie after 3 games, the tied players have to play a 4th.

Anyone invited opposed to that?

So to clarify: straight Win/Draw/Loss scoring, and if two players finish 3-0-0 then they have a fourth round play-off?

Confirm there will be no VP shenanigans, changing their relative weights or messing with Primary/Secondary, as was proposed in the first post?

How are you going to deal with Draws? What if you get three players finishing on 2-1-0, how will you resolve that with a play-off?

What armies will be used in any play-off round(s) required?

No messing around with VP's, missions straight up as per rulebook

Draws are Draws, they are worth half a win. In the event of 3 players ending up with 2-1-0, we can then do a countback on VP's. I find this situation would be pretty unlikely, but still, I guess its possible. In 150+ games at Mech on the weekend there were 2 draws.

Army for the playoff round will be a draw out of the hat for the 2 players, and the mission would be one of the rulebook missions not played during the tournament.

I think for round 4 the players should pick their opponents army biggrin.gif
If 3 people go 3-1-0, is the count back to find the top 2 to play off??

4th round play off will only be between the top 2. Its only possible for 2 people to go 3-0-0, so in the case of that it will just be a play-off for first.

In the case of 3 players getting 2-1-0, which is possible, count back goes on VP's, the top 2 play off for 1st and 2nd, and the player with the least VP's comes 3rd.
