Thanks Josh for running the event.

I think Ben should be in front of me. He beat me in the last game.

The way the win/loss was calculated, winning the first match was the most valuable so it isnt the typical tournament drawing you would see.

Works well for a masters type event.

Can you explain how my and apples scores are so different? you messed up the game 4 so win/loss ranking would not work anyway.

Can someone email me the spreadsheet used?

Thanks to Adam and Pope for running the show.

And hats of to my opponents, Brain, Josh, Micheal and Tom for the games.

Strength of schedule was the primary countback, so the format was essentially Single Elimination. But Single Elimination only works with a seeded draw, not a random draw like we had, so the result was skewed. It would have been good to have more transparency of the system in advance, because I was certainly surprised to finish 9th with 3-1 and a solid VP total!

Thanks to Apples for the hospitality and thanks to Pope for performing TO duties, it was a good day, everything ran smoothly and the catering was great.

Hows the saying go?
If you aint first your last?
At masters the only place that is important is
1st. It was set up that way so you cant be VP jumped.
& so we get a true second.
If its any conciliation Charles you "won" your bracket.

So why does it need to be a seeded draw to start? Im not sure its relevant. Plenty of tournaments that run on strength of schedule dont use it.

Well i had a great day, thanks for the invite and also opening the field so a few non masters regulars could get a chance to play, big thanks to apples for the venue and also the catering.

had 4 great opponents Chris and Andrew and got to play 2 people who i hadn't played before in Charles and Adam.

also big thanks to Pope for redoing the draw so i didn't have to play those dirty dirty demons smile.gif

Seeding the draw in Single Elimination is necessary to make the division into brackets more meaningful. There is plenty of info available online if you do a little research.

Josh I'm really not fussed, I had a good time at what may be my last opportunity to play some competitive games in a while. I just would have like more transparency in advance to avoid the surprise. And to have had the opportunity to roflstomp the Pony biggrin.gif
