Hi all

I'm posting this early because I want as many players to attend the first major Gold Coast event for 2014. RC40K#5 is now ready to take down your name and we are all set to bring you the best 40K Tournament the Gold Coast has ever seen.

We will not be attending Comics Plus for this event, rather we will relocate to the Southport Sharks venue where we will have a private, air conditioned room located within the club itself. This event will also be catered for with lunch being included in your entry fee (the bar and all drinks are purchased at your owne expense). There is also the bar for those of you that are inclined to drink after the first few rounds armata_PDT_14.gif The address is: Southport Sharks Club, Corner Musgrave and Olsen Avenues, Southport QLD 4215. now onto the event.

Date: 8/03/14(ONE DAY EVENT)
Venue: Southport Sharks Club
Time 9am till 9pm
Max: 50 players
Entry Fee: $45
Points: 1850pts, No Comp, Forge World 40K stamped allowed (conditions apply see players pack)

This event does have a paint score out of 6 with 4 Judges bonus points rounding it up to 10, please see the players pack for more details.

For those of you that attended RC40K#4 on the 9/11/13 the prize pool will be just as big (I lie it's slightly bigger) for more info please read the players pack. as soon as I have the prizes I'll take some pictures and post them up. Payment can be maid via Paypal to rapidconfrontation@gmail.com or you are able to direct deposit the entry fee into the RC account:

Account Name: Andrew Jones
Bank: ANZ
BSB:014701
Account #: 211537326

Once you have made your payment please send me an email or pm me so I know to add you to the list. I look forward to seeing you all there.

Kind regards
Jonesy

Poor punctuation Hayden. You should know that you always need a capital letter for proper nouns. Looks like I have some work to do over the holidays with you...

No because I like to profit from you... are you serious? its 45 dollars
because that will just cover my expenses and only if I have 50 players, I don't have sponsors mate everything comes from my pocket

Wasn't having a crack just asking a question.

Events are usually this price for 2 days/5 games, so yes it is a serious question.

So here are my sums. At 50 players it will bring in $2250. The venue will cost me 1075 including the catering that leaves me $1175 . The trophies cost me $220 ask Glenn, they are not plastic they are custom engraved with the RC logo and they look great. The prizes, including my 20% discount, come to $757.60 now that is just 1st, 2nd, 3rd best sport and best presented. I do offer normally about $200 worth of lucky door prizes but RC only has 20 40K tables so I'll be using my remaining $197.4 to try and build 5 more tables.

Easy man, wasn't looking for a itemized list.

"Venue + lunches, trophies and heaps of prizes" would have been enough for me smile.gif

Dude you are putting in your own time, sweat, energy into this so I can roll dice and blow stuff up. Why shouldn't you make some money!!

I don't think you need to explain your position. Infact if prize support was less and you made a little $$ I think would be perfectly reasonable.

after all I only get to play so long as you keep doing this armata_PDT_37.gif

Could you please put my name down? Rapidcon has always been great fun. Is it licensed (probably in the players pack or something)?

how dare you jonesy, charging 45 dollars for an event with both prizes and trophies supplied lunch and in a venue with airconditioning

it isn't enough you have dropped a couple of grand of your own money into terrain and table tops to grow your scene and give players a place where to get together and enjoy their time away from their real lives.

ontop of your time already taken away from your wife for designing a players pack and organizing the checking of lists and updating attendee lists and the time spent organising the set up of the terrain to and from the venue and the hours spent sitting by games that you don't get to play in and having to deal with the data entry and dealing with rules questions and setting up rounds.

I expect a single TO to do more

now where is my torch, I am going to light it from the flames of my own self entitlement

tsk tsk tsk

Hey, Josh your spelling has got better! Also, your ability to convey tone in your language needs to be applauded as well. You still need to work on capital letters but you can't rush these things. Overall a vast improvement. Congratulations young man.
