We tried out some of the fan-made Samurai battleboards available for SAGA, at Nunawading Wargames Assoc in Melbourne.

Game went well, looks good. Got some good ideas from the Nunawading mob for making some hills etc using insulating foam under a GW battlemat.

The battleboards and army lists cover a range of forces available during the Sengoku Jidai period. The forces and battleboards seem to be nicely balanced, from initial play - utilising a fair amount of the special abilities from the Norman battleboard. A nice spread of forces as well - Tokugawa, Takeda, Useugi, Ii clan, Koreans and European adventurers.

Anyhow, we'll have some more practice games and everything is looking good for our Samurai SAGA game at Little Wars Adelaide in July! Check out more info on Little Wars at: Little Wars website and book yourself in if you'd like to play our game!
