It's on again!

We're gearing up now for this year's Little Wars Adelaide, to be held again at the Goodwood Community Centre, 32-34 Rosa Street Goodwood.

It's on Saturday the 11th of July and doors open from 10:30am until 5:00pm. And once again, it's free (although a gold coin donation is very welcome).

We have around 20 games being promised (although details are sketchy as yet), many of them are making the trip over from Victoria to put on a game for you.

We're aiming to have a Bring and Buy stall again too, so start sorting through your lead pile for minis that deserve a new home, and you will be able to make some cash on the day (and probably bring home more minis to add to your backlog).

Lots of things are planned for the day and as they firm up we will be announcing them here and on the Little Wars website: ( http://www.littlewars.com.au ).

It's going to be another brilliant day, so make sure you come along and roll some dice on the day.

Thanks Stu, it's raised a few smiles here and there.

We're thinking of getting some t-shirts made (without the venue details etc).

I would certainly buy a t-shirt if you had them made - after winning the poor dice rolling award at the Flames of War tournament at Cancon it would be very appropriate for me.

By the way I am making good progress with the Gettysburg game we will be putting on. Now have over 6000 6mm figures painted and based and working on the terrain. Scenario playtesting will get under way later this month.

Looking forward to July immensely.

Good poster Alan, I'm in for one of the Tshirts if they're made...

Hey Norm, I put my name down with Alan to 'host' the ACW Battle of Olustee using Longstreet rules with about 3500 6mm figures we'll need to set up next to each other biggrin.gif

The Scenario I created is here I tested it last year:
Battle of Olustee Scenario

Cheers!

Traders at this year's show include:

Military Hobbies
Eureka Miniatures
Battlefield Accessories
Mick's Metal Models
Nerdvana Games

We have invited several more and are awaiting confirmation (or otherwise) of their attendance, and I'll post here when I know more. If you have a favourite hobby supplier/retailer that you'd like to see at the show, start pestering them to be there!

There's a bit of info on the facebook page, Alan's recently asked for confirmation and details from the many exhibitors / game masters who are running games. I know there's supposed to be a Waterloo fight in 54mm, looking forward to seeing that!

I'm running a sci-fi game with a bit of a difference this year (no Daleks!)

Here's a hint...

I've missed that, I'll have to chase him up on it.

I sent the details of our Gettysberg game to Alan last month but have not heard anything back as yet.

By the way we have now completed three playtests of the scenario including one last weekend with all the terrain completed. All went smoothly and we are good to go.

Any news?

I keep checking the Adelaide Little Wars website and not seeing any updates.

My game will be a Gallipoli campaign with 28mm figures. Simple home brew rules. Extra players are welcome to join in on the day!

Hi Lads,

I recently got back from the Melbourne Little Wars show all fired up for our event and have started updating various websites and whatnot - it's a one man band though and I don't have vast amounts of time to keep everything up to date. But stick with me and I promise there will be movement in that space.

We're less than a month to go until the event and it's going to be pretty tight in the hall with the traders and games on offer.

We're looking at about 9 or 10 trade stands at the moment:

Battlefield Accessories
Eureka Miniatures
Military Hobbies & Bruce MacDougall
Mick's Metal Models (maybe not this year, unconfirmed)
THMXcessories
The Hobby Matrix
Nerdvana Games
Leadbear's Tufts (maybe, again, not confirmed)
Minotaur Miniatures

I've invited a few others, but haven't heard back from them. But we're full now anyway, so it doesn't matter.

Plus I've arranged for the event to be better catered than last year, with tea. coffee and hot food available in the hall and I'm exploring the option of having a gaming club run the Sausage Sizzle this year.

The Plastic Modellers will be back again with more amazing models to show, as well as the Adelaide Regiment re-enactment group. I have heard a rumour there may be some cybermen coming, but I can't say for certain yet.

The Bring and Buy table will be back though with the redoubtable Ishtar in charge once again, so spend a bit of time over the next few weeks sorting out your surplus lead and plastic for cash redemption.

Approximately 25 games will be in the hall on the day.

if it is as half as good as 2014 it will be a blast.

now I need to start sorting out what sell/swap stuff i will need to leave in Ishtar's hands...

I just had confirmation that Leadbear's Tufts will be at the show this year. If you haven't see them yet, make sure you swing by their stall and take a look at the products on offer. They are exceptional quality and vastly superior to anything produced by the like of Silflor or MiniNature - especially for basing mini figures or military modelling.

Still no official confirmation of Mick's Metal Models yet, but I'm pretty sure they won't be there this year. Mick tells me he'll be busy with his day-job that week and cannot guarantee that his stand will be at the show.

But there's still going to be a shed-load of stuff on offer this year so it'll be a blast.

And more games going up on the site today.

Mick's Metal Models will not be there trading this year unfortunately. But there will be a display of King and Country models, Task Force 72 will be back again as will the SA Plastic Modellers association. A favourite from last year, the Adelaide Dalek Builders Union, will be returning with something a little different. Resistance is futile!

And more.

jump onboard this guys, all you adelaide gamers, from Garrison, Group North, Southern, Flinders, Shed Krew, Inner sanctum and many others, you know who you all are and this event is a great exhibition of our hobby. Thanks to the clubs and individuals who are hosting games and to the traders making the journey. (almost) City venue, easy parking, access off the tram or bus. No excuses, come along and roll some dice or gawk at the models. Last year was a blast, something for everyone.

Daleks and Cybermen ? TF72 ? SAPMA ? plus all the games !

Waterloo in 54mm on the 200th anniversary year of Waterloo.

Fark, this should have been organised for St Crispin's Day !

pass the word, support the event.

Stu
