Okay, a bit of a break from the Fists, painting my Sector Mechanicus scenery for Necromunda.

I used Vallejo’s chipping medium - so I based the furnace in a bolt gun type metallic colour, then sprayed various rust colours on, then applied the chipping medium, I then airbrushed the plates in orange, and after that was dry I used a toothbrush to scrub away at the paint and get the chipping effect. Came out pretty good. Easy to do. Will post pice when finished.

Okay so here's a bunch of photos that show the Ferratonic Furnace and the Alchmomite Stack. I basically airbrushed these and used Vallejo's chipping medium. I then gave the Furnace an oil wash of various shades, including some rust streaks. The Alchomite stack pieces are still WIP. They really are fun kits to build and very versatile -you can do a lot with them. For example, I made the last small chimney stack and hatch thingie with just leftover bits from the sprues.

Just plain awesome. I really need to learn to use these kinds of weathering techniques.

Thanks mate! It’s a very straightforward process - airbrush and chipping medium and oil washes. Nothing fancy. The most time consuming part was blacking in and then painting the pipes under the flooring and the sections around the main panels with a brush - took ages but again, was easy to do.

Nice work!

I have been looking at using the Vallejo paints for the same sort of technique on Vehicles and Terrain.

I will have to take a run at it smile.gif
