If they ask, you must be prepared to answer the riddle of steel, laugh at their 4 winds and show them what is best in life.

Argo Affleck is the GBU43/B to Phantoms BLU-8/B.

Not that I've actually seen it, so he may actually be closer to Sum of all Fears 'Dirty Bomb'

Can anybody sell me on Odyssey as somebody who got bored of Origins shortly after reaching Alexandria?

Not really. It’s very much more Origins. They’ve added a lot on top of Origins, like Black Flag style ship ownership, navigation and combat, expanded the gear and RPG parts and way more. But if the Origins gameplay didn’t do it for you, Odyssey is more of that.

If you’re curious, give it a rent?

Is renting games still a thing these days? It certainly isn't on PC. I thought it went extinct with video rentals.

I'm equally confused. Is game renting still a thing? Even for consoles.

It seems interesting enough - the first AC in ages I might actually play - but my budget can only stretch so far and Forza Horizon and RDR2 are where I've decided to blow my cash.

Then you miss out on half a game, only to end up paying more in the end. These dodgy business practices have us over a barrel.

Or you can wait twelve months and either pick up the season pass on sale or get the inevitable Game of the Year edition.

Honestly the only season pass I've ever felt was worth it was the one for Witcher 3: the "DLC" represented about 60 hours of gameplay (more if you're the type to 100%). Paying close to the full price over again for what is typically a few hours of content is rarely worthwhile IMO.

That said, Odyssey is really, really great. It takes the superior gameplay of Origins, and adds a proper set of stories and the like (I found Origins was pretty weak from a story perspective). It's probably one of the best open world RPG games I've played.

Its like they stole everything from Phantom pain and added it in (recruit enemies and upgrading your ship)
Gonna add it to my wishlist and wait for a sale, already have a large backlog on steam to play

Season pass are not worth the price, theres never enough content to justify paying the full price tag
Generally just watch a playthrough on youtube to satisfy my curiosity

I felt the Origins DLC was worth the price.

Each to their own. But the season pass on Odyssey is almost the same price as the full game. And I doubt the DLC offers anywhere near the 80+ hours of playtime the main game has.

Season passes are intended to increase profit margins, like when restaurants charge you $12 for a bowl of ice cream after your $20 meal.
