Hi Guys,

The club 40K Doulbes event will be run from May 2012 to the last club meeting in Sept 2012. Last years winners were Mono and Josh Hill. Will your team team be up to taking our the trophies in 2012?

This year each member of the team will contribute a army of 925 points, with a minimum of 1 HQ and 2 Troops, the rest you should coordinate with your opponent. Apart from the 2 HQs the combined army should comply with the standard FOC. This means a total of no more than 6 FA, 6 Elites and 6 Heavy Support units in the combined force. So you should dicuss you army mix with your partner. Allies cannot benefit from each others rules but can use the others transports, excluding drop pods and monoliths, after game turn 1 and not from reserve. There lists will be fixed for the tournament.

The armies cannot be from the same Codex, so no Blood Angels with Blood Angels, but you can have Blood Angels with Space Wolves, however there will be bonus points for misalignment, ie Grey knights teamed with Daemons. No standard missions but fun missions will be used and released at the start of the event in May.

Teams will need to register via a PM to me perferably by the last club meeting in May. Each team will need to play 5 games against different opponents, using the same army lists, provided we get more than 5 teams, as there should be at least 9 club meetings over those months.

The Teams refomed on the 27th May are now finalised at:

Team 1 -- Dave and Jeff
Team 2 -- Andrew and English
Team 3 -- John and Wayne
Team 4 -- Mono and Jared
Team 5 -- Junior and Joseph
Team 6 -- Matthew and Logan

Team Results - Updated 26th Nov
__ Team ___________________________ Points____ Missions Played

Mono and Jared ------------------------------- 23 ------ M1, M4,M2
Wayne and John ------------------------------ 23 ------ M1, M4,M3
Dave and Jeff ---------------------------------22 ------- M1, M3,M2
English & kajh ------------------------------- 22 -------- M2, M3, M4
Junior and Joseph ---------------------------- 11 ------ M1, M2, M4
Matt and Logan ------------------------------- 4 -------- M3

This year's doubles is a tie between Mono and Jared and Wayne and John armata_PDT_37.gif

Attached is the Doubles Team Packs with the missions.

Bonus points for misalignment?
Does this mean that you will give points or will you take points if we pair up outrageously?

"No standard fun missions will also be used..."
Sorry, but is this only standard missions, or only fun missions or both? armata_PDT_04.gif

hi wayne, sounds good.
just a few questions and clarifications

1 do you mean you get points for armies that are not normally paired?

2 is it 1 foc for both teams, so between the 2 armies there are 3 fa, 3 HS etc?

3 can allies benifit from each other rules?

4 can allies use ech others transports or ic's join each others squads?

5 are army lists fixed for the event or can they change from game to game?

6 how will the mission be determined?

Really enjoyed the previous doubles days. Lots of fun and a bit of a change from a standard game.

1.Do the teams have to be painted only in the Codex Army colours? Eg, could A Dark Angels Codex Army include units with borrowed Black Templar or Imperial Fists colour and insignia (as being on loan or abandoned but repaired)? Is there any penalty for that? Just might make it easier finding certain models.

2 Will the Army start fresh at 925 points, presumably, in each game or be destroyed/ reduced by each Mission?

3 Bases may not be just painted but MUST be textured with grit or flock, etc?

4 If no proxying equipment, does that allow models with home made weaponry or that is "similar to" GW weaponry?

5 As he is obligatory, does Emperors Champion count as a BT HQ either on his own or plus another HQ (eg. Marshall/Chaplain), if so they could have 2 or 3 to be captured. Disadvantaged?

6 In Cop This! does the Cop This! shooting attack comprise just one attack per UNIT still on the table and irrespective of the number of MODELS in each surviving unit?

Hi Wayne

I have a few questions for the mission pack, mostly to clarify things

List writing
does each person get to use one FOC or is it one for the team?

Mission 1

Can HQ’s be killed?
Each players HQ is an objective?
How fast can a unit move with an objective? (are they restricted to D6” or could assault troops move at 12”
Should the HQ’s be required to be deployed more than 12” on to the table?

Mission 2
Are the drink markers used when rerolling to wound?
Is it possible for an assaulting unit to take drink markers off the opponent or are they just lost when the unit dies?
Can vehicles be given the drink markers?

Mission 3
To confirm, if units are in reserve at the beginning of turn 3 they are automatically lost?
Bad Beer Pinning to prevent the game turning into just a roll off I think that it needs either a modifier or an allowance to start crawling out of the affected zone, at like D3” per turn or D6” per turn with dangerous terrain tests, once out they continue to take the tests with a +1 modifier to the roll

Mission 4
Is the "cop this" profile for the entire unit or for each model?
Can a single unit get "cop this" twice? Eg turn 1 unit 1 uses cop this, turn 2 unit 2 get it, turn 3 unit 1 gets it again
Can vehicles use cop this?
Can vehicles use cop this if they are stunned or shaken or moved too fast for that turn (normal vehicle moving 12”)?

Mission 5
How do you determine where the 1st objective is placed? I am assuming roll off as normal
What happens if a unit spans 2 objectives at the same time?
Can a unit move within pie cart range and get the bonuses or does it need to move in range 1 turn then remain there the following turn for the 1st bonus?

One per person.

Mission 1

Can HQ’s be killed? Yes

Each players HQ is an objective? Yes

How fast can a unit move with an objective? (are they restricted to D6” or could assault troops move at 12”
Should the HQ’s be required to be deployed more than 12” on to the table?
As fast as the slowest member of the unit, ie the HQ and they can be deployed anywhere in your deployment zone.

Mission 2
Are the drink markers used when rerolling to wound? No

Is it possible for an assaulting unit to take drink markers off the opponent or are they just lost when the unit dies? Just when the unit dies

Can vehicles be given the drink markers? Yes

Mission 3
To confirm, if units are in reserve at the beginning of turn 3 they are automatically lost? Yes

Given the beer crates scatter and you should keep you units as distant from each other as possible while playing it should be more than a D6 roll off.

Mission 4
Is the "cop this" profile for the entire unit or for each model? Each model

Can a single unit get "cop this" twice? Eg turn 1 unit 1 uses cop this, turn 2 unit 2 get it, turn 3 unit 1 gets it again No

Can vehicles use cop this? Yes

Can vehicles use cop this if they are stunned or shaken or moved too fast for that turn (normal vehicle moving 12”)? No

Mission 5
How do you determine where the 1st objective is placed? I am assuming roll off as normal Yes

What happens if a unit spans 2 objectives at the same time? You control 2 objectives

Can a unit move within pie cart range and get the bonuses or does it need to move in range 1 turn then remain there the following turn for the 1st bonus? As soon as it moves in range but it must be there for a full game turn ie 2 player turns.

Hi. Just a note to let you know I inadvertently picked up your Mini Rulebook as well as mine last meeting. Now Wayne has it for you (as I was not expecting to attend next meeting, but now can). Sorry about that. Regards, Johnny English.

Looks interesting, just want to confirm that you get bonus points for having complimentary alliesa (ie shooty with choppy)? I should be able to get to quite a few meeting over the next few months, just not sure if I can get my army from Isa soon

Hi,

The misalignment table is in the players pack but more of Necrons aligned with Space Marines etc. Like the reverse of trusted aliies. You could borrow the club SM army.
