Hi all,

I will be signing on as a core player. As most people have said, I have no preference for Attacker or Defender and am happy to jump in and fill a hole. (Apologizes to my team before hand for the poor gaming results I will probably achieve sad.gif )

Anyway, if Wayne could let me know what side I end up on I will be using Iron Hands if I am the attacker (I have scrounged up a squad of Terminators that will bring me up to 2250) or if I am defending I will use the Imperial Guard and throw myself on the mercies of the club to lend me some fortifications to bring my total up to the required amount.

Look forward to the new players pack when its announced.

Ben

Hi Wayne are there any changes being made to the player pack that english and I need to be aware of for the test game on sunday?

Just thought of this, in the Space Wolf codex Lone Wolves give up victory points while they are alive, but give up nothing once they are dead, how should we treat Lone Wolves for the campaign?

I am happy to sort out an answer on Sunday for the test game and have a campaign ruling based on if anyone take lone wolves in a core list. I am taking WOlves on Sunday, but I still don't know what I will use for the campaign.

Mission comments

Overall mission worked well.

Needs to have fall back rules for the defender

English and i were going to suggest that defenders fall back to the middle of the table. Once they are there they continue to take Ld tests. If they pass treat as a normal regroup. If you fail treat it like 5th ed tyranid lurk, move to nearest area terrain or unoccupied being count as gone to ground.

The other thing we noticed is that we had severely mauled each others armies meaning that there may have been issues for the next game. English for example only had asurmen left.

Plus Mono raised the issue of first turn charges.
As with the deployment map (distance between deployment zones) it would be possible to pull off without scout or infiltrate using involved.

So is the player (attacker or defender) who goes first allowed a first turn charge??

English

Where do the defenders reserves come in from?
Specifically things like flyers which can't start on the board

I did suggest to Wayne earlier to increase the distance between deployment zones to be 18" instead of only 12". So the Attacker can deploy up to 6" from their table edges.

Another thing is to probably remove Scout as well.

In my original version of the mission I wrote, it was basically just a normal "Hammer and Anvil" deployment - i.e. attacker deploys on just 1 side of the table not both. Then the idea of having Scout was to allow the attacker to close the distance faster.

However with attacking from 2 sides already, scout is not needed really.

Personally I would suggest shortening the defenders deployment zone, as I did not find it easy to deploy my army.

Having said that I did have the full 2250 points and I doubt anyone playing that misson will have their full army after casualties.

will 2 more players please put your hands up for this?

Wayne, do we need to sign up on a website?

And when do you want army lists? I am assuming that we only need to submit for core games.

Where is the best place to send them to you?

I'll put my hand up as a Core Attacker, using my Tyranids, though I'll be away for the entire second half of March...
