Hey Guys,
we are at a point where we can make the lists public to everyone. There might be some minor tweaks as issues are found, but here it is http://www.australasianteamchallenge.com/ArmyLists2012.php

And just what happened to that East Coast commitment to 'comp' biggrin.gif

Some good army lists, probably an improvement to last year across the board.

We are in the process of taking it out the back and shooting it.

Comp is still kicking. East coast is just getting lazy and discovered copy/paste is all.

In fact most of these army lists concrete my view on comp scoring. I would prefer to play with and against armies with a degree of variation rather than something that looks like it was churned out by a lobotomised goat. A lot of dex's out now with good options throughout and some interesting or just plain cool options, but no, lets just spam the crap out of a very few relatively cheap, reasonably effective choices.

In all honesty i really can't understand how people get any enjoyment or any real tactical challenge playing these types of lists.

Lol, probably not the best thread for a comp debate. armata_PDT_14.gif

Don't decry comp that much when it was the soft lists that did the rest of your team in last year smile.gif

I'll update it when I get a chance, the list does come in at 1730 at the moment, so it is no problems smile.gif

I think it a feature of this event that it encourages somewhat one dimensional lists due to the matchup process.

I like the balls to the wall, sometimes seemingly crazy lists that have come up. Triple Land Raider, Triple Storm Raven, 6 Psyflemen, Wraithwing, QUAD RUNEPRIESTS?

I reckon NZ, WA and Vic have generically the strongest lists, but much will depend on match-ups.

So all the GK armies have psyflemen and the guard armies have Vendettas; big surprise, they're among the best units in the game. Other than that, there is a fair bit of variety there, I mean there is triple LR, triple SR, sisters, Tau, different styles of Necron lists, BA with AV13 spam and BA with jumpers, henchmen and no henchmen. You want the CSM players to bring defilers or something instead of obliterators?

Just because there aren't any numpties with terribad lists doesn't mean there isn't variety. Besides which, I'd rather play against competent people with good lists than the generic comp tournament where half the games aren't even worth playing they're so one sided. That has been my experience anyway.

The spam is within individual lists, not across the board. When one ba list spams razors and another spams jump marines that does not equal variety. If the two were to be mashed together to create two lists with a mix that would be variety.

My list just spams grey hunters and long fangs, its a constant struggle to stay awake from turn 2 on. I told my captain the land speeders were to slightly improve the list but really they are just so i can make vroom noises to keep myself amused. biggrin.gif
