![]() http://www.museedesplansreliefs.culture.fr/ caught a preview of their exhibition on BBC world news. Awesome collection of historical relief maps preserved in several museums. http://www.museedesplansreliefs.culture.fr...e-en-relief.php quick youtube of the event http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mRKIhAqiekw...player_embedded the model making is unbelievable and the attention to accuracy phenomenal. More youtube vids are available, most in French but there are good descriptions on how they went about siege warfare and there is a workshop, available to kids, that lets them play with an 18m^2 relief map of rome and learn how to build the terrain. I must get me to paris stu -------------------- bambi

the epic part of it was all the models were made for military purposes and Napoleon jumped onboard to both save the existing ones and make some more.

Headed there in April, I'll go check it out and get some photos if I can. Check this place out too! Musee do Moyen Age They had a great exhibition of swords when I was there. The Invalides War Museum is also worth a visit. -------------------- Never interrupt your enemy when he's making a mistake - Napoleon
