Free Rules? How will we get them?
Digital copies available and printed verisons at FLGS and Games Workshop Stores.

Facial expressions in that order.
I'm just gonna go with....really? Though if it's from the QandA, guess they can't back down from it.

The vehicles with wounds doesn't bother me too much. It's streamlining the system so you don't have oddities where two mechs (say Imperial Knights and Riptides) have different stat lines for no real reason than just cause.

Plus vehicles will probably have some rule allowing re-roll saves vs non rending weapons or something. They did say it would be really difficult to kill avehicle with mass lasgun spam.

However, the fact you can do it is awesome. How many times have you read about bolters taking something down that wouldn't be able to do in game? It opens up a lot more access to "fluffy" in game moments.

It'll also be nice to give units something to do, regardless of the super long odds.

Narrative play uses power levels for each unit.

I look forward to fielding an army with a power level of over 9000

This is going to be the greatest edition ever.

Well I'm interested.... I've been out of 40K for over a year now... Started getting into Sigmar for hobby but yeah I haven't really gamed in a long time. I found the last edition of 40K too klunky.... I'm looking forward to this....

As a very short person I am so glad templates are going the way of the dodo.

Trying to figure out what, if anything I have hit with a template if it's in the middle of the table is a real struggle.
And less arguments are always good.

It'll make my Vraks Renegades a bit faster in the shooting phase. Currently I've got 26+ blast markers of various sizes to scatter each turn.

As we find out more, I am slowly seeing the beauty of them releasing Shadow War immediately before this - now people can have their crazy levels of granularity in a game scale suited to it, and we get a shiny new edition that smooths things out as well. New profiles look good, although one would have to assume models like Guilliman with only 9 wounds would have some kind of Eternal Warrior equivalent to stop being rended to death.

BoLS is becoming redundant for 40k stuff now that the warhammer community site has all this stuff up already.

Doesn't anyone find it odd with the rule to do away with Initiative? I mean this means that a super fast monster who can see a slow ass unit run towards it still has to stand still and wait for the slow motion power-fists slam it in the face. Seems like a drastic way to help GW's favourite army of Special Marines swing their Thunder Hammers and Power Fists into faster units like Lictors and Hive Tyrants to screw them up even more. Can't see this edition helping my poor Nids any more than the previous one did!! armata_PDT_05.gif

It's possible weapons like this will have their own rules to keep them similar to how they are now, without relying on an initiative stat.

I'm interested to see weapon and vehicle profiles, especially how weapons like lascannons work. If they cause multiple wounds, will they spread across the unit like they do in AoS, or just take out one model at a time?

It appears that if you charge, you swing first. Be it because you caught the opponent flat footed or what, who knows. It appears that ongoing combats will be a I go, you go arrangement though. So it's mostly like AoS

Seems to me that the super fast monster would be able to manouvre into a position to smash said unit 1st.

I want to at least see what they've come up with but I agree that it will be a big hit or a big fail.

At least they appear to be going about change for the right reasons - 40k is so clunky as is.

Arnt you assuming 'rending' will be a thing? smile.gif

With armour mods and a 'everything can hurt everything' principle maybe rending becomes obsolete

The mechanic in AoS for Armour Save modifiers is called Rend (ie you both are likely to be talking about the same thing.)

I was presuming rending as auto wounding on 6's with AP2, the 40k rule smile.gif
