Hahaha,

Homoerotic overtones is pretty much par for the course in the 100 Acre wood. Just saying.

The good thing about moving into an apartment with no TV reception and no internet installed is that you get to spend a lot of quality time with the missus, painting war dollies while she watches old episodes of E.R. on DVD...

...That show is intense.

In other news, as promised:

Ahl Fasid:

Particularly proud of the NMM on his gun:

Zhang Shi test paint scheme:

I don't like how the artic camo came out. It looks OK but I really wanted it to 'pop' like the Russian and Chinese Blue camo does:

Re arctic camo - I've been following the modern warfighter painters guys doing Sanging and other African or Afghan theatres of conflict the prevailing suggestion with mopat/copat etc digital camo is to do what you have done but to do it with a muddle-brush or stippler brush - a brush with very short cut down bristles I.e. You get a good brush gone bad or old and you cut it down to 3mm of bristle. Once you have that you must charge the brush with one colour, while most of it off like a drybrush ( actually closer to the amount you would use in an over brush) then paint it as a stipple, that is, straight up and down perpendicular to the surface in a dab-dab motion placing the colour in blocks taking a random third of the space you want the camo laid down in. Alow it to completely dry and come in with the next colour. It works best to go from dark to light. It's important to not follow any contoure in the fig just lay down the paint dab-dab. I'm having some success with this method and I hope it can help you too.

Kinsman...

Why do you inspire me so?

That NMM is divine and I love the cross hatching on the base.

Eponymous: Thanks man, I'll give that a crack. I've got enough near-dead brushes to test on.

Finally finished the old Maghariba Guard. Now to get it on the table a bunch of times before my willpower check fails and I buy the new one.

Nice greens and browns, Loki.

Yeah, I'm also worried that I'm going to drop $80 (or whatever) on the new one.

I've being sucessfully resisting it since I own the good old Fat'chi'koma already and its painted (albeit to a #### standard) but mainly since I never use it anyway. Hell I haven't played vanilla Haqqislam in years.

See, I mostly play generic and only occasionally venture out to Hassassin. I can actually count the games I've played as QK on one hand.

Looking forward to getting the old girl on the table (*ahem*). If I have fun with it I'll consider getting the new beast, but at least I'll be able to keep using this until it gets finished.
