The Geoff Jose Memorial WARMACHINE Tournament 2011

Saturday 3rd September 2011

This year, due to the poor showing of last years' Warhammer Tournament and the lack of interest in running a GW and 8th Ed. tournament, we'll be running The Geoff Jose as a WARMACHINE Tournament (Geoff played Cygnar).

For those who don't know, Geoff Jose was a Brisbane gaming identity who died from cancer after a short illness in March 2007. Geoff was well known as a bit of Tournament and gaming whore, attending almost any event he could in Brisbane and The Sunshine Coast - usually coming last. Geoff had been in a wheelchair since he was 16 due to an aneurysm in his spinal cord; wargaming was one area that he could compete with everyone else without his being in a wheelchair being a restriction (he hated the word "disabled").

The Geoff Jose is not a serious event, if you want a serious event, bugger-off and go somewhere else. This even is held each year to celebrate the life of a mate, by playing the games he loved so much. As with previous years, all money raised by this event will be donated to The QLD Cancer Council.

The Geoff Jose Memorial Warmachine Tournament 2011 is proudly sponsored by Phoenix Forge

Bec,

Any chance you could throw up a link to this in the Privateer Press section of these forums? I only found it by pure accident, and i'd be dead keen to come along.

Thanks,

David.

Can I just confirm that HORDES are included? I know it's a silly thing but I just want to be sure.

Also what is your stance on people using dodgy dice? I assume it involves forcibly inserting said dice before asking them politely to leave... (I only ask as it seems to be a flavour of the month kind of thread).

Captain John "Mad Jack" McDonnell, O.B. shall be there to uphold the honour of last place! I still don't know how to play this game (properly) at any rate. Now where did I put my German Prime manual....

Sam Rounsevell

I'd be very keen on seeing more prizes for rocking up / last place / painting rather than first, second, third.

We'll attract quite a few competitive players with Warmachine...its not impossible we'll hit 60.

I also have a fully painted Rhulic force if anyone needs an army to participate.

I've recently been converted to Warmahordes and have a respectable Khador force being assembled at the moment. armata_PDT_34.gif
Doubt I'll get them painted for the event and still have stuff all idea of the rules intricacies but have the basics down sorta OK. I am looking at collecting Circle as a second force as well.

Oh... And just to throw my hat in the ring... Last place is MINE damnit!! biggrin.gif
