4 awesome opponents, 4 good games, excellent food and great company. Makes me glad I'm part of the QLD WMH scene. smile.gif

Big thanks to everyone for an amazing day. Also thanks to everyone who made Toby feel welcome and helped him play his matches. He's been hyper all evening and finally managed to calm him down.

Again thanks to organizers and everyone involved for a fun day.

Thanks to everyone for an awesome tournament, the best of the calender year. Capt Damiano had a ball. I somehow managed to kill an opponent's entire army and then have Shae assassinate me. But throughly enjoyed every minute.

There was supposed to be, but a quick ask around found almost all (except one) in favour of calling it a day early. Everyone was tired or drunk and had had enough fun. Riverfire would have made travelling home to North Brisbane extremely difficult had we continued and people wouldn't have made it home until after 11pm had they lived on the Northside.

We may have to change the date next year so as to not clash with Fathers' Day and Riverfire. sad.gif

Congratulations to David Potts for First Place and to John McDonnell for claiming that wonderful position of "Thanks for Coming!". Both, I'm sure you will agree are fantastic achievements!!!!

Dodgy Dave was particularly wasted yesterday (though he still placed 6th), with I think Mick Christiensen as the next being under the weather (at 40th place!).

Yesterdays Geoff Jose Memorial Warmachine Tournament raised $815 dollars for the Cancer Council QLD and an amazing 196 bottles/cans of beer and cider being drunk!

An amazing effort that! laugh.gif

Thank You to all who played and the nine people who volunteered to bring such a fun event. To Luke from Phoenix Forge for sponsoring us to the tune of $700. Also a big thanks to Paul (Heble) for running his second Tournament ever!

Well,
The GJMWT seems to have been a hit... we had 45 players all up on the day, unfortunately 3 had to leave at various points during the tourney, but we soldiered on
It turns out that 5 games during the day was a bit ambitious so as a vote of 41 to 1, it was decided to cut it back to 4 games.

The last game finished at 5pm, and the nutcases running the tourney got out of the hall by around 730pm. tongue.gif
A big thanks to all of you who came along on Friday night to help set up, to those who came and volunteered on the Saturday, and to all those who hung around to help pack up in the evening.

Without your help it wouldn’t have happened.

A few things I noticed on the day.....
War gamers don’t read the rules.
MaxoQ is not allowed to ask me questions any more.
Gamers suffering from burnout are really cranky tongue.gif
The consumption on alcohol at first improves .. then rapidly destroys Dodgy’s ability to play or care...
Don’t start placing bets on Token.
Don’t let the pirates get 2 cannon shots off at your Warcaster
Don’t take video when Bec is around..
It’s hard to take control points with incorporeal models sitting on them
It’s hard to take a control point with a dire troll sitting on it..
Don’t bother the TO when I’m trying to calculate rankings.
Khadorian jacks dont care about fire.

I’m sure that there were many more, please post your own comments.

On to the Prizes.
Door prize 1: Owen Evans
Door prize 2: Pat dwyer
Door prize 3: Toby Ross
Best painted: Stuart Beats
Best general:
3rd: Jamie Shirlaw
2nd: Kieren Moore
1st: David Potts
And the main event:
THANKS FOR COMMING: Cpt John "Mad Jack" McDonnell

Thanks to all who came and participated in the event, we managed to raise $810 for the Cancer council over the day. I hope that you all enjoyed yourselves, and will come back for the next one.

If you have any comments or criticisms, please PM me and let me know, so that I can try to improve the tournament for next time.

please find below the amended rankings, apoligies to Sheldon, for stuffing it up tongue.gif

Yes I found it a very tiring day, and that was with me really doing bugger all. I crashed after I had my brief visitors leave. Exhausted.

I enjoyed the day and had some great opponents. I proved to one and all that my curse continues on. I proved with Jason that I am not a pacifist, although I cheated! Yes I only realised as I was typing this up that my Bull Snappers should have gone torpid after "eating" a model. Naughty me. I will remember next time. Why? Because I will play more Hordes in future at the club. Better than that GW stuff (mostly).

Thanks to Bec and Paul and to all those who help the Blind Pig set up.

We've got a really good community for playing the Warmachinies.

I'm going to be timing my games, playing those mission things in the back of the book and getting my opponent so drunk he can't control his own bodily functions in the future.

Its so much more fun.
