So if we just want to register for the Saturday event (which will spill over to Sunday) - do we register for the Saturday Warmachine event only? ($30?).

Nicia is January, so you all suck. Also, I'll sign up at some point. I'll probably even attend! So if we just want to register for the Saturday event (which will spill over to Sunday) - do we register for the Saturday Warmachine event only? ($30?). AFAIK Yes -------------------- OETC Team Australia 2012

So if we just want to register for the Saturday event (which will spill over to Sunday) - do we register for the Saturday Warmachine event only? ($30?). Correct. When setting up the event, CGS generously agreed to let us pay for just the one day we would definitely need. Given the unprecedented number of players, I reckon next year we will just go ahead and plan/pay for a 2 day event. As it says in the SRoller rules - no proxies. Vlad1 is not Vlad2 and so on. If you think you are going to need more banes you have literally months to get more or arrange to borrow some. I have about 30, so I would suggest you ask me However, on the subject of conversions, I am totally prepared to consider/approve models on a case by case basis. There are guild lines in the SRoller rules that I suggest reading. And honestly, 'cool factor' will count for a lot. In addition to what the SRoller pack says, I say the following... 1 - Don't anyone dare show up on the day and ask if their conversion is OK. PM/email me pics in advance. 2 - Even if approved you must point out the converted model to every opponent at the start of the game and whenever asked. failure to do so may - at the TOs discretion - result in the model being RFPed. yea last time i used my bane creation list at an event i ended up with over 70 of them in one game. even with my 30 odd banes, its a bit of a stretch if i play a merc player. id rather pull out then have to buy another 40 banes (last time i was at cancon it wasnt an issue). surely a little common sense with conversions and proxies wouldnt be an issue, some (not all) of the epic models are pretty much the same as the non epic anyway. -------------------- |

With domination now out, but not all the models, would something that is freaking obvious (ie a tree on a 40mm base for a Gallows Groves) be allowed?

No. As per my previous advice and the Steamroller rules, absolutely no proxies will be allowed. Conversions will be considered/allowed on a case by case basis. I don't know how to say it any plainer than that. And FWIW - The SR2011 rules not only forbids proxies in general, they also specifically address the question of proxies for models that published but have yet to be released. In a friendly game you can do what you and your opponent like, but at a tournament the expected standards are higher and the rules for this issue are both clear and well known. Why on earth would you pull out? Because you might play a merc, and they might be infantry hvy and you might find yourself having to play with 60 banes instead of 70? Really? That is worth pulling out? You say you have 30 banes, I have offered to lend you about 30 more. I suggest you see if anybody in your local has a unit they could lend you, or feel free to ask in this thread. Alternatively, just play with 60 banes instead of 70. Considering we will be using timed turns, you may even be better off for it -------------------- Pressganger - ACT Australia

By the time the game got to that point you probably wouldn't want to have 70 Banes on the board anyway. Timed games would mean you'd run out of time....although I'd think the game would be pretty much over by the time you're generating 70 Banes anyway... Steamroller rules lay down the law pretty clearly about proxies and conversions. -------------------- Knock it up a notch - BAM!

Ken, Just FYI because other responses didnt clarify why. Steamroller has rules which state that the official model must be publicly released for it to be legal in a steamroller event, therefore you cant use scratch builds or conversions to represent unreleased models/units from new books. -------------------- Xerxis puts the 'laughter' in "manslaughter'.

Jyggdrasil,
I reckon you should charge $5 extra to each person that requests to use Proxies! Cheers. -------------------- "By my blades I promise our enemies will soon have ample company in the afterlife"
