First of all Greenacre Gamers are just one club that make use of the gaming room at Movie Nights DVD rental store in Greenacres Plaza, Greenacres. Greenacre Gamers has been called upon to be the generic name for all the clubs as it best describes where we are situated. Below are the different clubs and what they specialise in:

Greenacre Gamers (GG) for all Wargaming. We are mostly playing GW stuff but I'm sure we can accomodate other games aswell. A few of the players play Warmachine/Hordes and there are quite a few Flames of War players as well. If you have a wargame and want to get some action with it bring it on down and maybe show a few people what its about and maybe hook a few more gamers. We also hold monthly mini tournaments for the various systems we play.

Adelaide Fantasy Open Under Lights (AFOUL) Bloodbowl players the lot of them. AFOUL is headed by an absolute Bloodbowl fanatic and as such we have all sorts of interesting games take place. Leagues are much fun as our commisioner comes up with interesting stadium rules and weather effects. If you are a player of BB then come on down and knock some skulls (or dance around if you are one of those woosy ball handling teams...)

Adelaide Board Games Group (ABGG) The Adelaide Board Games Group have been around for a little while and enjoy all things board games. 'Euros' seem to be in the majority of games played but quite a lot of 'Ameritrash' hits the tables as well. If its considered a board game then they will play it. Some of the games do not involve boards at all so do not let that trick you.

The Movie Nights Gaming Room is quite spacious and has room for upto Six 6x4 gaming tables or three 12x4 gaming tables (although at the time of writing we only have the 4 tables set up but more are on the way. There is plenty of seating aswell.

As it is a DVD hire store there is plenty of snack food and drinks. The plaza itself has a large selection of foods including Australia Pizza House, Chinese, Charcoal Chicken, Fish and Chips, Hot Potatoes and 2 bakerys.

Entry into the gaming room to partake in games is $2 a session but your first two times are free. There is no annual membership fees, insurance fees or any hidden fees. All our tournaments are $12 for entry with everyone getting a souvineer in the form of a dog tag.

Movie Nights has been very generous in allowing us great flexibilty when it comes to room access and it goes as follows:

Wednesday (AFOUL Bloodbowl)
7pm - 10pm

Friday (Greenacres Gamers Booking)
6pm - Late

Saturday (ABGG Booking except for last Saturday of the month)
10am - 6pm

Sunday (360 LANS)
(TBA)

Coming Soon a dedicated historical wargaming night!

Movie nights is located Shop 13 Greenacres Plaza
Corner Muller and North East Road
Greenacres, Adelaide SA

Gormath, you should get your Blood Bowl Commish to come and register the league on AusBowl. It's the Blood Bowl site in Australia and all heaps of Australian leagues have their own forums there. Plus it's just a great place to recruit new players or just chat about all things Blood Bowl.

Thanks Olaf

I'll mention it to our commisioner and he will no doubt get on board with that. He really is a BB nutter along with some of our players!

There's also currently a BB league being run at Games Quest in the city. I think Season 4 has just started. The Commish for that league is Darkhorse on both the WAU forums here and on AusBowl. Your Commish may want to contact him to discuss how their leagues are working, things to avoid, solutions to problems etc. They may even want to organise some sort of inter-league contest to find which league is "the best"! biggrin.gif

I used to live at Valley View too until last year. I am down south now. sad.gif

And yes, we are in our 4th BB Season at GQ with 24 coaches.

I've been too busy to do much BB-wise lately, but in the short term future if there are any locals who are up for a game please drop in and say hi.
I haven't planned how the league will work yet as I'm waiting until enough people express interest to make it worth my while.

I'm a big fan of house rules though, so anything could happen. I'm open to constructive input too, and also to people shouldering some of the load.

The 9 game league we ran last year (at my house) was to get new people familiar with the game, and I would like to include this element in anything we do in the future if BB rookies are interested.

Work and Uni demands on my time are high atm, so the best thing to do is post on one of the forums or drop in to Movie Nights for a natter- and a game or three!

Hey Guys, just realised how close you are to where I live! So I've found Greenacres on Google Maps, is the Greenacres Plaza the big wad of shops n junk on the corner of Muller Road and North East Road?

Yes indeed it is. Across from the old cash converters.

We are having a session Friday Night for Wargaming followed by a session on Saturday for Boardgames (euros and ameritrash all welcome)

Where abouts do you live?

Cool, I'm pretty sure one of our members were living in student accom there last year.

If you can make it out to Greenacres on Friday night and you do not have any other arrangements it would be great if you could make it. This will only be our second session so its a good time to get in and be part of the foundations of the club!

Hi Guys

I am currently a member at another club but I want to break it up a bit and meet new players. Can you tell me what costs are involved?

I play 40k - so maybe Scout Max we could organise a game. Wolves vs Wolves!

edit - just noticed Scout max can't do Fridays. Hopefully another night then.
