Haha! Cool.
Was thinking of starting a thread in the modeling diaries for it. Or at least some type of log. May need it for the motivation.

I have started my painting diary as well

Have just ordered my 1st Infinity models and should be in late this week or early next week. Being a greek mythology tragic I have gone with the Steel Phalanx. Would love to join this League for learning the game and a reason to paint.

Ok, so I started ordering and getting a few figures. Good news, bad news. Good news is I think I have ordered/bought enough to experience the game so far. Bad news is my order I placed Monday is still outstanding and the box of Myrmidons I got today had a miscast body. YAY.

My 1st question about Infinity is WYSIWYG, is it used to the exact for a model like 40k? Or more like Fantasy where it close but you get clarification from your opponent?

Reason for the question is I get a Myrmidon that has a AP CCW and an open hand. However all the entries for the unit show a gun of some sort to go with the Nanopulser, Pistol and CCW. Seeing as how there is no Spitfire version that I have come across. Can I run him and say he has one?

Thanks for any help.

Erryll Flynn,

That's a shame about the delays and miscast, however I have only ever heard good things about Corvus Belli and their product replacement system. On the main Infinity Homepage (The official one) there should be details about the complaints process. There should also be a product code slip of paper, use these and you should get replacement bits stress free.

As for WYSIWYG, Infinity is extremely open. It's encouraged that you use the correct unit entry (eg: Myrmidon as a Myrmidon, not a Diva), but as for weapons, not all weapon options have been released for all model types, and as you've said yourself, some are very dynamically sculpted, leading there to be no gun visible at all.

Just clearly discuss it with your opponent and remind them if they ask and you'll be all good.

For a real kicker, just look at Ajax or Achilles, I don't see a gun on either of those bad boys, yet I can assure you they do carry them and know how to use them.

Cheers, the chad.

I sent off an email via the contact. No real place to add pics and I did have the "complaint code". Its good to know about the minis as I do have an Achilles coming and that's sort of why I asked. Good thing about the dodgy body one is that its the one with the AP CCW only, so I can go without until it arrives.

Next silly question, why the 2 movement lines for Bikes? 8-4, then 4-4.

That's it for now. Time to build and get a colour scheme together

No worries mate,

The two profiles are for mounted and dismounted. Given bikes cannot climb and so forth, it is sometimes necessary to dismount, thus the second profile is used.

Cheers,

Chad

When it comes to DA/Shock/AP/EXP/Mono/EM CCWs they pretty much differentiate them by colour rather than by the appearance of the weapon, so don't worry about using that specific model for being the AP ccw. There is a Myrmidon with Spitfire model available, but as Chad will have stated, so long as you explain what model has what and readily remind us if we forget, shouldn't be any dramas smile.gif

Just found him! Cheers for that. I will pick him up as I prefer to make it easier for myself and my opponent for the Spitfire. Will use the other guy as a "whatever" when the body comes.

And colour coded weapons, ooo that's pretty win.

Here's a preview of my first hobby video for the league.

"ARGH THESE TINY MODELS ARE SO FETHING HARD TO ASSEMBLE *RAGE*"

Having a lot of frustration getting my first 50 points assembled, seriously armata_PDT_04.gif

Sounds like a plan mate I'll probably do something similar. Intro game + my progress + terrain progress cause I can. wink.gif

Just to further clarify what the gents have already said.

In Infinity there is no true WYSIWYG as the range is not 100% complete so proxies/mixed profiles and use of existing models to cover missing ones is not only accepted its actually encouraged.

What's important to remember though is 95% of Infinity is trust and clear communication from one player to another. This is covered in the rules to some regard. So if I were to ask you 5 times during a game what that Myrmidon was armed with (in your list not on the model) then you got to answer to me 5 times.

If I ask you if he is your Lieutenant (he can't be but if he could) you can tell me to get stuffed as thats not public knowledge thats the a part of 5% that you keep to yourself along with whats under camouflage markers and whats not deployed on the table etc etc etc.

So feel free to run with what you have or what you like the look of as long as you're happy to can convey it to who ever you're playing against at the time. biggrin.gif

Couple of questions.

1. What mission are we doing YAMS or ITS? Will we need special troop types or will specialist troops be able to complete objectives. Some of us will need plenty of advance warning to paint and or acquire doctors/hackers/engineers if only they can complete objectives.

2. For each point bracket does normal SWC apply so in 50 points only 1 SWC is permitted?

Cheers

YAMs and the first game is 50/1.5SWC, but all others conform to the normal SWC, so 100/2, 200/4, 300/6 and 400/8.

Also, in case you're unaware, YAMs does not require specialist troops; anyone can achieve objectives.
