So as some of you may have seen last night saw the start of the Geelong and Regions Blood Bowl League Season 3! We had three of the six games played last night, with the season kicking off with a real bang! Heres a little write up of the three matches that occured;

Lonely Mountain Marauders (Dwarves) v Melbourne Galaxy (Humans)

Score: 2-1 to the Lonely Mountain Marauders

Casualties: 4-0 to the Lonely Mountain Marauders

In a game that saw a repeat of a coaching match up from the first game of last season Coach Fynmore's dwarves simply proved too strong for Coach Burns' humans. The game was played in a blizzard, and the weather matched the temperment of the dwarves. Although the humans scored first the Dwarves coldly pounded their way down the pitch to equalise before half time, then recieved the ball and repeated in the second half to win 2-1. Coach Burns had no answer to the dwarven might, with the humans finishing the game with only 2 players on the pitch.

Romerio Kamp FC (Wood Elves) v The Carroburg Cutthroats (Humans)

Score: 5-0 to Romerio Kamp FC

Casualties: 4-0 to The Carroburg Cutthroats

It was always going to be a tough ask for the new team The Carroburg Cutthroats to take on one of the giants of last season, Romerio Kamp FC and get a good result, and there was no fairytale story here, as the Kamp Wood Elfed their way to a 5-0 drubbing. However inducements played a big part in this game, particularly star player Helmut Wolfe, whos chainsaw ran riot on the Elves, inflicting 4 casualties, including a serious injury to a Wood Elf lineman and the death of the Wardancer Colonel Courtship. The apothecary was called in by Coach Bennett to save the but he should his head and pronouced the time of death. So a big win for the Kamp, but it came at a cost.

S.P.U.R.S (Skaven) v Pirates of the Carribbean (Orcs)

Score: 2-2

Casualties: 2-1 to S.P.U.R.S

In what could have been a tough opening game of the season for the new rat team S.P.U.R.S against the developed orc team P.O.C, the rats managed to pull off a respectable 2-2 draw without suffering any bad casualties. The orcs will have been disappointed to not have started with a win, but Coach Maronian is hoping they will bounce back next round.

There was a few people that were coming over and having a look last night. Although it may be too late to join the league proper if anyone wants to sign up for the open league and develop a team for next season just shoot me a message!
