Welcome to MOAB 2015!

We're back for our 26th year and still running strong.

This year we have a brand new layout for the MOAB website and you can check it out here: http://www.southernbattlegamers.org/moabsite/

For visitors and competitors alike we have a wide range of activities and services including:

The return of many of our regular Traders and Sponsors, such as Hall of Heroes, Aetherworks and War and Peace games to name a few. We also have some relatively new attendees such as Make a Model and Ex Manu Studio.

Our top class Bring and Buy stall will be there where you can sell of your second hand or surplus gaming goods.

The lovely ladies from the Canteen are back offering a wide variety of cooked and hand made food (freshly made sandwiches, the MOAB Kransky, bacon and egg rolls, and drinks) including our highly rated BBQ featuring a new selection of items this year.

Your favourite Tournaments are back and include Warhammer 40K, Warhammer Fantasy Battle, Flames of War and Bolt Action. Some relative newbies to the convention include X-Wing, Drop Zone Commander and Chain of Command.
Player Packs are online for most games and Online registration will start soon.

For visitors and competitors alike we also offer a wide range of free participation and demonstration games and we announce the return of our small but very successful Board Game library.

So its time to start getting ready for MOAB 2015!

As a note regarding the Tournament:

We are offering Warhammer Fantasy Battles as an event.

Due to the current state of flux around the status of WFB and Age of Sigmar we do not yet have a players pack.

We will either offer Age of Sigmar or the previous/current version of WFB. It all sort of depends on what Age of Sigmar is like and when its released.

The MOAB Dice are here!

For the last few years we have had custom-made dice for MOAB.

This year is no exception and since it is the 25th Anniversary of the original MOAB they are in a Silver colour.

Every competitor at MOAB gets one of these dice for just entering the Tournament. Extras are available for purchase at the Bring N Buy stall if you just cant get enough of them.

This is the dice and as you can see, we have a few of them.

Games On Sunday!

MOAB 2015 will be seeing the introduction of a special event on Sunday 4th October during the convention. We are calling it Games On Sunday! (the name might be a work in progress wink emoticon )

Team MOAB has teamed up with Aetherworks, War and Peace, Hal of Heroes and Good Games Miranda to present a full day of participation games with the opportunity to win a range of prizes.

Prizes will include starter sets of featured games, MOAB gift vouchers and MOAB canteen vouchers.

Team MOAB will be demonstrating a range of miniature games covering a broad spectrum of genre including Fantasy, Wild West, World War II, Scifi and future historical.
- All Quiet on the Martian Front
- Bolt Action Tank Wars
- Star Wars: X-Wing
- Star Wars: Armada
- Star Wars: Imperial Assault
- Dead Mans Hand
- Relic Knights
- Dreadball
- Deadzone
- Kings of War
- Bolt Action: Boot Camp
- Battle of Mobile Bay
- Blood on the Sands
- Nuclear Alley

All you have to do is play a game and you will get a raffle ticket. You will then go into a draw for the prize. Prizes are drawn every hour starting at 10am and finishing at 4pm. Games will be running from 9am to 4pm.

We look forward to seeing you and remember to bring the family.

Games On Sunday

Game On! Monday will be back again at MOAB 2015.

On Monday 5th October at MOAB we will be running participation games of Zombicide! and Dungeons & Dragons: Temple of Elemental Evil Board Game.

A MOAB volunteer will be on hand to run the games so no previous experience is necessary.

There will be two sessions of each game during the day:
Zombicide!
10am - 12pm
1pm - 3pm

The zombie apocalypse has come and no one was really expecting it (except Phil). The world has changed and you are doing your best to survive by teaming up with other survivors and finding food and shelter. Of course, you need to wipe out the zombies in the way first, its time to commit some zombicide!

Zombicide! is a cooperative board game for 2-6 players. Join in the fun and play as a team, no experience required.

Temple of Elemental Evil
9am - 12pm
1pm - 4pm

Explore the dungeons beneath the Sword Coast where you will fight monsters, overcome hazards, find treasure and hopefully survive to tell your tale. Are you ready for adventure?

A free cooperative board game event for 1-5 bold adventurers age 14 and up. A club member will be on hand for both sessions, so no experience required.

Entry to these events is free but you can register to make sure you get a spot in the game.

Even better, every participant in the games will be given a raffle ticket. During the final session of the day we will have a raffle draw with the winner getting a prize!

So check out Game On! Monday.
