MIF was the second tourney i've ever been too and i had a blast.
Liked; pre-released missions, no nasty surprises playing 6 great opponents, 4 of which were people i didn't know playing 2 girls, great to see the opposite sex getting involved. throwing chocolates Having a ten man guard squad kill Logan grimnar in H2H The last game of the weekend, 5 turns, not one kill point scored for either of us (surprisingly one of the funnest games i've ever played). Thanks Matt Disliked; playing on the same table twice, especially when there was wayyyy too much terrain on the table. nerd diet Lack of sleep (my fault) having to name each unit and squad leader in a guard army with 9 infantry units ( i gave up in the end) All in all i had a blast, great weekend and i cant wait to do it all again in a years time -------------------- Nurgle Traitor Guard Army Diary
im not playing to be a rapewagon, Thanks alot, I've now got coke on my keyboard. the 40k universe is full of giant space bugs, a race that reproduces via spores and things called C'tan... that eat stars and the only thing that makes no sense to you is the movement of tanks??? |

Great weekend, much like it was last year and will be there again next year.
Likes were: -The missions. Weren't over the top and alot of fun -Players and just people involved. There were little if not any douchebags, which was a welcome change. And vans and cars didnt get smashed like at arc. -Screaming 'WAAAAUUUUGGGHHHH" at the top of my lungs and the entire hall going silent. Dislikes: -The lack of room. Found my table was being invaded by other players chairs and I couldn't sit or stand comfortably around my table because of other players being everywhere. Thats it really -------------------- Ben "Flailing" Crowther

Heard a lot of reports of games ending on turn 3. No excuse for that really, the time allocated was sufficient.

Likes: Panel Comp which obviously worked.
Whole atmosphere of the event. Venue, close to food and drink of all kinds, Chadstone up the road had a salad bar (Although, I didn't make use of it....) Dislikes: Day 2 ending meaning Monday and the working week arriving! Theme - Its too subjective to mark and holds nothing for the game. Painting theme may be a better option? Space, maybe needed more? As you said on day 1, game 1. The space shrinks when 126 gamers enter the nenue with all their associated paraphenalia... -------------------- Luna Wolves Diary - http://www.wargamerau.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=82085

Only 1 game was cut short after 5 turns, the rest were rolled for normally. But i was pushing to get through them.. prodding my opponents to move along a little. Don't know what that does to a sports score though. |

Missions Pre-released for playtesting and then feedback being taken on board to make better missions. A great atmosphere without a single asshat in sight. Ryland falling for the old 'Whats That' as Papa Stu pointed at his name badge and smacked him in the chops when he looked. Great opponents, great terrain, great opponents Dislikes People playing on the table behind me touching my arse.....I'm looking at you Wyrm!!! A little more space would be good. -------------------- Coming soon - Judgement Day 6 - Call of the Zombie

Had an excellent time. MIF is one of my favourite tourneys.
Likes- Everything Dislikes- My one complaint was myself. Just felt a little flat on the first day( As for the complaints about subjective things like painting, comp and theme, just follow the TO's guidelines and you should score well enough. Not neccessarily max but well. -------------------- W.A.T.T. is good in life?

Missions - all missions kicked arse Opponents - 5/6 of my opponents were great to play against Proximity of the venue to the city - makes it much less of a trek compared to a couple of outer suburbs venues which are half way to Sydney Panel comp - peer is not the way to go Missions pre-released for discussion - removes the clunkiness My dice - ALL WEEKEND Disliked: Tight game times - makes playing an Ork army a disadvantage Theme - It's a waste of time Finishing 25th when I didn't lose a game This post has been edited by organboy: Apr 13 2010, 09:49 PM -------------------- <3 Orgz

The time allocated to play the games was plenty, some people just need to be more decisive and start planning their turn a little before, or dont bring 150 minis that need moving every turn.
I liked it all overall, good prizes and well run in general. Issues that need some thought, space in the main hall was squishy between tables, being bigger doesnt necessarily mean better, set a player cap based on space and budget accordingly. Food, its always an issues no matter what, at least the drinks were cold which i liked and the cafe food was alright once you got service (at least waiting wasnt an eye strain). Mission wise i thought most of them were ok, however the 1st one with all area terrain blocking LOS was a bit too random based on various tables, mine was a cityfight style and it shut down large areas of the board, not good when you are facing an assault army that just pops around a corner etc. I think there were too many missions with multiple objectives, some hidden and some not, trying to cover multiple small + primary + killing HQ and taking out enemy units just lends itself to making assault armies that rely of wiping out the opponent, not capturing objectives, just found myself way to stretched in too many missions with too many options, really plays to the strength of marines with multiple tactical squads. Stu, subtle. -------------------- Reuse Repurpose Recycle

-The big sports/battle sheets (im easily amused) -Assasinate being an mission option you get to choose yourself (not by the enemy -Panel comp (very happy here) -Blizzard mission (that was epic win) -Imperial armour (loved using this.) Dislikes -Having to fix my models, which always break when i use them As for time, only issue I had was round one, it I find strange, Deathwing vs MechSOB should be a fast paced game. I assume its a combination of slowly getting into it and having to use the toilet -------------------- QUOTE Did you know that by my selecting a Tau Commander and two Teams of Fire Warriors I have thrown out any chance of my fielding Lash Daemon Princes, Chaos Marines, Obliterators, Leman Russ tanks, Skulltaker, Assault Cannons or even God Falcons? Look at what I've got to do without all because I made the choice to field a themed Tau list. |
