not gaming related but try the museum, thats great for kids. entry for them is free and adults are ten bucks.

plus then there is mind games in the city to go to.

Do the museum and the aquarium (although aquarium is quite pricey). Go on a day trip to phillip island to see the penguins if you have transport (I imagine there's a backpacker bus). Not sure what else in the CBD, most of my suggestions are drinking and dining related.

Victoria market on a Wednesday night can be fun. Good street food and music.
Head to Ian Potter and the National Gallery of Victoria for some culture.
Do a tour of the MCG.
Head to the Botanical Gardens. Very nice.
Brunswick street, Fitzroy for dinner one night. I enjoy Mario's.
Fine dining? Lots and lots of options.
Hire some bikes and ride up along the Yarra trial.
Head out on the train to Belgrave and take Buffying Billy. A narrow gauged steam train through the hills.
Sky deck.
Go to the Astor in St Kilda for some classic films in a original Art Deco theater.

Agree with the day trip to philip island ! biggrin.gif biggrin.gif i love penguins! .. in going around just be sure you are not much allergic with dusts and pollen.. though low pollen count now.. i remember it spoiled my vacation in melbourne when I had an allergic with pollen, 2 days i stayed indoors and just rest, good thing my cousin has an air purifier to filter the air but it knocked me down really... visit bay of Islands Coastal Park too they got awesome sceneries! biggrin.gif armata_PDT_37.gif armata_PDT_37.gif

If going down to Philip Island why not go to Wilson's Promentory as well, and climb Mount Oberon there? Great views.

Because the Wizard that lives on Oberon's summit is angered by trespassers?
