The scuttlebutt around my local GW store is there is a Codex:Chaos Legions in the pipeline for early 2012.
Presumably this means just the original Legions that turned away from the Imperium during the Horus Heresy and that subsequent Chaos Renegades will be a different Condex [or maybe a WD update(s) for renegade Space Marines (and renegade Guard?)]. There are a few threads on other forums, but nothing concrete (to whatever extent a "rumour" can be "concrete"). Have any WAU bretheren heard anything? -------------------- inveniam viam aut faciam |

Yes it is in development. There is no real facts on what it is, How botched it is or what happening to the pirate codex as of yet.

This one has come up since the CSM codex was released...
I am highly doubtful of it. As much as I would love it (Chaos is a faction I like, just dont like the current codex). It won't be for early 2012, that much is certain. However, I can confirm from a reliable source that when released, the codex will contain stuff, with things.

I heard that there are going to be units that you can select, that will have options on stuff that other units can't get.
That some of the points costs will enable you to have some stuff, a little, or LOTS of stuff. I think all that sutff is over powered!!! And its not fair that the stuff they get is sooooooooooo stuffy! -------------------- 'I see lead people'

This has been rumoured since Gav Thorpe's CSM codex came out.
It is a nice match to how people actually want to play. Think its a pet project of someone (probably Jervis) so it keeps getting talked about at Game Days but nothing has come of it yet. -------------------- Adventures in Army Painter Soft Tone:

I would seriously doubt GW are messing with a White Dwarf codex again. I did a pretty thorough Google search for Sisters army lists the other day, I found 2 that were serious, one was Josh. There are a few people dumping their old rhino rush lists into the new codex's points but not tailoring to the new Faith system at all. Its made my favourite army by far a painting project. Hrmm an eldar dex could get me playing again. Luckily for me I own so much eldar no matter how they change them I can still field an army.
I consider a chaos dex a huge grain of salt. They should just bite the bullet and make a massive Tome Of Chaos, chaos players are rabid enough to buy a $200 dollar book. However the return of "Flayva" to chaos would be nice. It seems everyone just plays whatever the current marines are. So if they update chaos everyone will play "spikey" marine armies. I think a redo of eldar would need some serious plastic kits for people to be interested. Theres too many fine cast purchases in the eldar at the moment to make th army attractive to an australian gamer. Side note: Where the hell is a new apoc super heavy. I was wondering what the 40K rules editions were as releases?
Have they coincided with the Oct/Nov releases for Xmas sales in the past? CSM+eldar would require the re release of both for 6th ed? Is that really likely? and edition change and 2 codex at the same-ish time? I would put money on Dark Angels / Chaos Legions in the starter set.
There are regular false leaks to pin-point the people doing it. A bit of back tracking on 40K online would suggest Tau aren't as close as BoLS indicated. Never really know which one is the leak, though. -------------------- Adventures in Army Painter Soft Tone:
