DW Mediterranean Sea

Well, the war has started and everyone is involved in one way or another.

Day Zero
Two KOB BC’s are shadowing the Goeben (PE fast DN) and Breslau in the western Mediterranean, with war looming both sides are on edge but not firing on each other. The Goeben turned into the sea mist and gave the KOB the slip. The war started with no enemy in sight. The RN searches the Med but the Goeben slips past and attacks an eastward bound troop convoy off of Tunisia. The escort of a reinforced cruiser squadron (2Tribals and an Armoured cruiser) turned to engage as the convoy (6 Ms) scattered. In the far distance a small KOB scouting force appeared on the horizon (RB 6,1cruiser and 4 FF). After heavy fighting and very inaccurate gunnery from the Goeben (who was also firing on the fleeing Ms), with only 1HP remaining she was rescued by a French BB which sank the last KOB warships though two merchant ships escaped. The Goeben limped into Tunis harbour a floating wreck.

Week One
The RN sailed forth and bombarded the French coast destroying a number of wineries and vineyards.
Scouting forces tried to find the French and Italian fleets but nothing was found. The French have sailed to Tunis and have towed the Goeben to safety.
The Ottoman Empire has allowed the Russian fleet through the Dardanelles. They stopped to coal at Rhodes where the local governor requested help in putting down the local Greek bandits.

Week Two
The RN raided Tunis and destroyed the French harbour and sinking two wine transports but the Goeben was gone.
The Italian Navy attacked and sank a small convoy of empty colliers carrying refugees from Malta to Alexandria, escorted by two corvettes.

Week Three
The trap closed on the fleeing Italians and battle was joined off the North African coast near Tunis. With the HMS Warrior and Black Prince as the blocking force, HMS Indefatigable and other squadrons closed the trap. The Italians fled for the coast with most of their ships damaged, leaving their light forces to screen their escape. Their flying flagship RM Andrea Doria carrying Admiral Leevis Quikus, developed steering and engine difficulties early in the battle and fell behind the main fleet. Refusing to surrender and with guns blazing (totally unItalian) the burning airship crashed into the sea. Heroic efforts by then RNAS saved many sailors of both sides from a watery grave. When Admiral Leevis Quikus was pulled from the sea, he was still clutching his wine bottle and glass.

Rumours for Week Four
Reports of Naples being bombed and another winery being destroyed by overshooting bombs.
Reports of smoke off the coast of Malta (could be the french).
Admiral MacKenzie hosting the Mediterranean Naval Ball at Valletta has toasted the captains present and ordered them back to their ships for “French Desert”.

Week Five

The French give the British Army's forts target practice at Malta.

The Prussians ambushed the Russian navy with a Merchant Raider and warships. The Russians save their convoy for light losses, sinking all the Prussians.

The Italians are repairing all their ships after being mauled the previous week.

The RN went bridge, train and fishing boat hunting along the southern coast of Italy. The trains are no longer running on time and there is a shortage of anchovies in the fish market.

BBC rebroadcast of the "Russian World Radio News"

In other news, a a small group of fishing vessels escorting a couple of supply ships { carrying fluffy toys and educational materials to the orphans} came under sustained attack from evil pirates. Driven by the thought of the orphans going without their educational material and possibly ending up like the godless French, the galant fishermen and supply ship crews fought bravely against overwhelming odds.
In what is widely seen as a typical act of Russian forgiveness and generosity, the surving pirates were taken onboard the surviving fishing vessels and will be taken to an all expenses paid re-educational facility located in a scenic winter retreat.

The content of this radio broadcast are not necessarily the views of The World BBC.

The Greek navy (using French ships) today soundly routed an Italian squadron (using FSA) that crossed into their waters. For the loss of a support cruiser the Greek's captured a gunship and sank three cruisers. The Italian flagship and its heavy flyer support fled at high speed with significant damage.

Next week if the french can get their act together, they have to stop a KOB (3rd Indian Ex Force) invasion of one of their african colonies. Most of the French armoured units are in for maintenance and paint jobs.

Well we have finished turn 5. (Five months into the war)
The KOB have invaded southern France.(KOB win)
The French and Prussians ambushed a KOB Malta bound convoy.(French/Prussian win though the escorts fought bravely and that allowed the MS to escape)
All the other players are maintaining their neutrallity and building up for war, but on whose side.

Turn Seven and the knives are out.
The Egyptions declared war on the French but failed to find their convoy.
The Greeks attacked the Turks taking both Rhodes and one other province (Rumelia).
The KOB and RoF fought a battle over a KOB convoy. The RoF squadron was severely punished with a Tourbillon going to the KOB pool room.
The skies are still clear of Invaders due to wisdom teeth removal.
The Italians and Spain are the only countries not at war, though bribes are being accepted. (good quality wine only)

Turn Eight
The Med has divided into two sides.

Egypt, Greece and Britain form an alliance and attack Italy and Turkey. Egyption and Britiah forces land in mainland Italy.

This leaves Prussia, France, Italy and Turkey on the other side.

A large battle has developed around the French convoy from Turkey to France. Turkish, French and Prussian (18SP) naval units defend against Egyption and Greece raiders (13SP).

Prussia is raiding the KOB convoy to Gibralter.

The Invaders have arrived, landing in the KOB controlled province in France and a province in Italy. The KOB repel the invasion. Italian forces are overwhelmed at 10/1

Greece captures Cyprus from the Turks.

So thats everyone in an alliance now? They can be no bystanders in war! Keep up the commentary. I have no idea who plays what team so I'm using my imagination and guess work according to what the nations are doing and it doesn't take much to guess who's who =p

Well the campaign ended today after finishing turn 10.
The Coalition (KOB/Greece/Egypt) winning against the Imperial Bond of Prussia, France, Italy and Turkey.

With Greece being the individual winner with four territories captured, three from Turkey and one from Italy.
The KOB in second place with two territories one from each of France and Italy.
And Egypt in third place with one territory captured from Italy.

Three territories were in doubt, one from each of France, Turkey and Egypt. These could have fallen to the KOB, Egypt and the Invaders.

Now to plan the next great adventure.
