Completely one sides games aren't fun for either player. With too few points it's less about tricks and more about who has a stronger core.

Smaller point make it harder for same armies and easier for others, when this was first used there where no fliers, flying monstrous creatures, lords of war, knights or wraithknights. Some armies have units cheap enough that they can take on any opponent, others armies too expensive in points cant and can only concentrate on only some of these new units. 1250 point was designed in simpler times with simpler armies and limiting point gives an unfair advantage to same armies. Also 40k has been in a steady decrease at MOAB for year to the point that most other games such as warma/hoards and flames of war outnumber 40k, a couple more years and it be cancelled through lack of interest.

I have always liked 1250pts, it makes you think by cutting out the fat in your list.

The concerns about some armies not being able to take cheap units is not entirely accurate as allies neutralize this in a big way.

I should be able to make it along to this. I haven't had 3 days of war dollies for ages.

I will be bringing my Blood Angels out for a spin armata_PDT_36.gif

Not sure if I can make it, I'm looking at Harlequins depending on further details.

I'm in the same boat as shaggy. Plus the change in points is just fun, mixes it up.
