It's come to my attention that Rifts is a much-loved sci-fi rpg.
Have you played it? What do you like/dislike about it?

It's a cool idea and it works okay if you just use the main book and the sourcebook - but even then it's still Palladium, so it's pretty goddamn awful.

I played Rifts back and forth in the 90s and early 2000s. I've lost all my books. It is a crazy mash up of genre, themes and worlds, with Character Classes and Racial Classes for everything from Dragons, Cyborgs, Psychics, Wiazrds, Mad Max nomads, Mecha Pilots and Demons and crazy ####.

Awful, awful system, but lots of cool little locations and entities. Overwhelming amounts of power creep between books, with no suggestion of balance.

It was good fun to play in a balls out kinda way.
