Gobocon Players pack
1750 points 3rd of April 2016
Southern War Gamers Club

Hi folks, please see the below details regarding Gobocon 2016. This year Gobocon will be run using the current 9th age rules. As 9th Age has been designed for tournament play there will be no comp or restrictions outside of those outlined in the BRB (basic rule book) and your army codex. I have included a link to the site below. These rules are updated however at this stage in the games release the updates are minor. It is the player’s responsibility to keep up to date with any changes to their codex or the BRB.
Start time is 9 am and each round duration is 2 hours (there is some fudge factor) , Gobocon is a 1750 point 9th age tournament consisting of three games and scoring will be based of the 10 nil system.

A bonus 2 points will be awarded to the player that secures the secondary objective.

A bonus 1 point will be awarded per game to any player with a full painted and based army

Please see the 9th age rules to understand how points are awarded.

Game 1

Deployment will be diagonal with the secure target secondary mission

The Table is divided into two halves by a diagonal line across the table. Whoever gets to choose
The Deployment Zone decides which diagonal to use. Deployment Zones are areas more
than 9” away from this line.

After determining Deployment Zones, both players each place one marker on the Battlefield, starting with the player that picked Deployment Zone. Each player has to place the marker more than 12" away from their Deployment Zone and 24" away from the other marker. At the end of the game, the player controlling the most markers gains an extra 2 points. A marker is controlled by the player who has the most Scoring Units within 6" of the marker.

Game 2

Deployment will be diagonal with the Breakthrough secondary mission

The Table is divided into two halves by a diagonal line across the table. Whoever gets to choose
the Deployment Zone decides which diagonal to use. Deployment Zones are areas more
than 9” away from this line.

A player with one or more Scoring Units in their opponent's Deployment Zone at the
end of the game gains an extra 2 points. Ambushers that entered the Battlefield on Game Turn 4 or later don't count for this purpose.

Game 3

Deployment will be Classic with the Hold the Ground secondary mission

The Table is divided into two halves by the straight line through the centre of the board, parallel to the table's long edges. Deployment Zones are areas more than 12" away from this line

The player with the most Scoring Units within 6” of the Centre of the Board at the end
of the game gains an extra 2 points

Prizes

Best General

Best general will be awarded to the player that after all three games has the highest amount of points after paint and secondary objective points have been calculated.

Runner up

The runner up will be the player with the second highest amount of points after paint and secondary objective points have been calculated.

Player’s choice

At the end of the day each participant will be asked to vote once for one player that they played during the tournament to receive this prize. The person with the most votes will win the award. In case of a tie the tournament organiser will chose the winner based of sportsmanship, paint and uniqueness of the army

Best Team

Any group of three persons may enter Gobocon as a “team” entering as a team does not exclude you from winning any of the individual awards. The beast team will be awarded to the three individuals with the highest cumulative points at the end of the tournament. All teams must be registered prior to the event (they cannot be made on the day). As the best team at Gobocon 2016 you will have eternal bragging rights and custom made T-shirts for each member that will be awarded at a later date.

Additional prizes and awards may be given by the TO on the day depending on player numbers. The TO reserves the right to add or remove awards as the date of the event comes closer including on the day.

Conduct and Sportsmanship
All games are to be played to the very end, there is to be no forfeiting. Participants are expected to conduct themselves in a friendly manner the entire tournament. Intimidation or over the top gamy attitudes will not be tolerated.

Dice are to be rolled in a clear table space in clear vision of both players, do not roll the dice and scoop them up before your opponent has a chance to see the result.
